Daily Inspiration, November 29th

“I am not praying for these alone but also for the future believers who will come to me because of the testimony of these. My prayer for all of them is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as you and I are, Father…I have given them the glory you gave me—the glorious unity of being one, as we are…” (John 17: 20-22, the Living Bible)

Jesus is praying for you! Isn’t this wonderful? I love to recognize that this prayer with his immediate apostles extends to us all. Jesus was consciously embracing in this earnest request, all those who believe in God and His Christ—in that Truth of man’s oneness with divine Life and Love.

Jesus’s prayer for us all is that we feel and know our true unity with God, and with one another, through divine Love. Because of the Master’s awareness of his own tender yet powerful relationship with God, he could not contain this good news or leave it to disappear into time. He was “of one heart and mind” with God, and this treasured consciousness was what healed, saved, and even overcame death.

This absolute unity with God—heart and soul and mind—was glorious! This glory was not exclusive. Jesus was certain that all should have this same magnificent and powerful Truth to feel and know and declare and share and live. So, this inspired man who always prayed with perfect results, prayed for us. He prayed that each one of us receive the full and deep awareness that we are one with God and with one another.

Let’s receive this prayer and believe in its healing power for ourselves and for our world!

Daily Inspiration, November 24th

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!” (Psalms 100: 4, Amplified Bible Classic Edition)

Thanksgiving is a blessed occasion to celebrate our gratitude for the good that we have. It is a day to recognize God as the abundant Source of this goodness. We can eagerly enter this wonderful realm of Love with a consecrated awareness of the blessings that are ours both to enjoy and to share.

Many of us come together today on this holiday, as we celebrate it in the United States, and are aware of our family, friends, and food! It is a joyous time, focused on gratitude and grace, and it should be a reminder to leave fear and anger and contention outside His gates.

We can actively express this grateful praise every day. Our offering to God is our recognition of His ever-presence and of His control over all. Our sincere thanks should be an acknowledgment not only of the good material gifts we see before us, but of those infinite qualities of good that are much greater and more lasting than a festive table setting.

Love, Truth, peace, joy, compassion, goodness, forgiveness, mercy, wholeness, unity, are the enduring ideas that make all the good we see possible and truly felt in our hearts. Let’s try to remember today and every day to give thanks to God—affectionately, lovingly, genuinely. Let’s remember gratefully that as we share these God-qualities, we ourselves are further enriched, all year long.

A Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Daily Inspiration, November 22nd

“Spirit names and blesses all. Without natures particularly defined, objects and subjects would be obscure, and creation would be full of nameless offspring, — wanderers from the parent Mind, strangers in a tangled wilderness.” (Science and Health, page 507)

You were given your very unique name by God Himself. Spirit’s name for you defines your nature, identifies you with God’s family forever, and is the special and precious way He calls you His beloved. Your name is that inner heart of you that never changes and is never confused with anyone else.

God made sure that His creation was and is as infinitely varied as He is. God, Spirit, designed an exquisite universe filled with every right and good idea, expressing His own qualities and His purpose. Each of us has been brought into being with a special identity, one that is not only individual, unlike any other, but also so very blessed.

This permanent identification with the divine means we are never wandering about trying to find ourselves or our place or our reason for being. We are forever secure in God’s vision for us and His vision of us. He knows you by name—as you truly are and as grand and lovely as He made you to be.

Nothing is obscure or uncertain or lost in the divine Mind’s family of ideas. Each of us is vibrantly expressing God, as only we can do!

5 Tips for a bigger and better life

  1. Abandon preconceived ideas about yourself and your life as well as comparisons to others. Focus on your child-heart–the one that isn’t caught up in judgment. Love her and listen to her. Take her by the hand and see where she guides you.
  2. Be willing to explore, but not willful in pursuit of a goal. Take things a moment at a time and be willing to change course without guilt or fear. You are safe in your adventure.
  3. Be on your own side. Vehemently advocate for your greatness. Don’t argue against it.
  4. Dwell in possibilities. See everything as an opportunity and be eagerly ready for surprises.
  5. Cherish your uniqueness and use it without apology. You are exactly who the world needs just as you are. Be you and be excited about that!

“…glory and honor and inner peace [will be given] to everyone who habitually does good…For God shows no partiality [no arbitrary favoritism; with Him one person is not more important than another].” (Romans 2: 10-11, Amplified Bible)

Every man has the right and ability to feel the love of God fully. There are no favorites in God’s Oneness. Each idea of His was conceived out of Love and to be loved. Not one is less important or worthy of affection than another. No one can move out of His Infinite Mind and into isolation, hatred, evil, shame. No individualized expression of Life can stray from its Source nor can one gain a better standing than another.

Our glory and honor and inner peace is not bestowed by an arbitrary or partial God. It is abundantly ours at all times. We gain access to good by doing good. The blessing is felt and realized in our experience as we unite with our true nature and act as we were caused to act; be what we were made to be.

This alignment with the Truth gives us peace. It causes us to feel connected to our genuine selves and to others, because we are connected to God, to Life, to Truth, and to Love. We can naturally yield to the Love that we have and that we are, and rejoice that this great inheritance belongs freely to one and all!

Daily Inspiration, November 15th

“My child, you’re always with me. Everything I have is yours.” (Luke 15: 31, God’s Word Translation)

A father’s words to his son in this parable echo the promise and guarantee of our Father-Mother to each one of us.

In this teaching story that Jesus gave us, the prodigal son strays from home and wastes away his inheritance behaving badly and without a good sense of morality. When he returns home in rags and in shame, his father welcomes him with love and a feast. His son has returned home—has come to recognize the necessity of goodness and the value of gratitude.

This prodigal son’s brother had remained home with his father, faithfully carrying out his work and living a righteous life. He becomes angry and envious when this errant brother is given such a celebration, and he himself hasn’t received such a party.

His father’s answer to this son is instructive. This obedient son who stayed by his father’s side was never without the father’s kindness, the treasures of being loved, just as we are never without the Father-Mother’s protection and affection.

The prodigal son didn’t gain anything new by returning home. He just became aware of what love and goodness truly meant. He became conscious of how much he needed his father. Likewise, the prodigal’s brother also was made aware in this rich lesson, of what had always been his. He could no longer take it for granted.

We are always with God, no matter where we go or what our state of thought may be. We are one with Him, beloved children held warmly and safely in His thought, and supplied with every right idea. We don’t need to do anything to get this inheritance nor can we lose it. All that is needed is awareness, acceptance, and gratitude.

Daily Inspiration, November 10th

“Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out).” (Proverbs 19: 21, Amplified Bible)

We’re all just full of ideas. Some of them are good and inspired. Some of these thoughts are not productive, helpful, or even true. We make plans and we also tend to predict, at times unconsciously, what is in store for us. We have great aspirations, but at the same time we put conditions and limits on their realization. We also may find ourselves agreeing that our lives must necessarily pass through certain phases to carry out an agenda based on a supposed material view of life.

But all these plans, these human designs and limits, are not the Truth for us. God’s purpose is the one that will stand, that must be carried out. His wise and loving will for us is the intention that is real and right and good and limitless; that can’t be lost in time or by human actions.

God’s purpose for us is that we remain faithfully what He caused us to be. His intention is perfection, immortality, progress, and peace. God isn’t confused by the “many plans in a man’s mind,” nor is he swayed by material beliefs or presentations about our life. God’s plans don’t involve human will or the lack of it. His all-powerful design is the one that is legitimate and just right for us.

Release your thought and your life from its little human plans and expectations, and let God’s purpose reveal its natural and boundless splendor!

Daily Inspiration, November 8th

“I will bless you with a future filled with hope—a future of success, not of suffering. You will turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers.” (Jeremiah 29: 11-12, Contemporary English Version)

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to accept this benediction for ourselves? Wouldn’t it feel satisfying, safe, and assuring to willingly receive this blessing upon our future along with the awareness that we will always have a recourse for help should we need it?

So, let’s just do it! Let’s release ourselves with gladness and gratitude to this word from God. We have access to this hope for tomorrow, and it rests in accepting God’s blessing today. Let the struggling thought, fearing or fretting over the future, pause to receive God’s abiding promise right now. God’s Love is yours today. It is yours tomorrow. It will always be yours.

In this moment, we can receive this divine assurance.  We can expect success and not suffering. We can set aside those beliefs that evil is inevitable or that we are somehow the exception to God’s rule of abundance and grace.

Gratefully realize that this word of God is yours. It comes from Truth itself just for you. You can expect the best. You can know that even if uncertainty does arise in your glorious future, you will always have a place to turn. God will lead you back on course, back to His intention for you and for all—to express His own glory and to be blessed today, tomorrow, and always.

Daily Inspiration, November 3rd

“You are the light of the world. You cannot hide a city that has been built upon a mountain.” (Matthew 5: 14, Aramaic Bible in Plain English)

We are made to share our light. This light is that goodness and love that God has given us; the reflection of Truth’s presence and power. Such brightness can’t really be hidden, and yet at times we try to do just that. We choose to question our capacity to have a meaningful impact on others and instead shadow our own light in self-doubt and fear and personal sense.

But this city, this great ideal that God expresses through you, is a powerful beacon and sanctuary. Its purpose can’t be denied. There is no way that something so large and lovely and true as God’s own intention of Love, can be kept under wraps.

It is situated on a mountain. It stands upon a rock that puts it above the earth and its dark beliefs. When we stand upon the mountain—the recognition that our light and our power are founded in God, the great I AM, the infinite Source—we are able to accomplish much and find the true confidence to share that healing glow with all.

You are a living witness to God’s qualities. You have an abundant gift to give to the world simply by remembering who you are as God’s own image, His powerful and necessary expression of Truth, Life, and Love.

Don’t hide your radiance or qualify it. Get on that mountain and shine!

Daily Inspiration, November 1st

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (II Timothy 1: 7, New International Version)

You may believe you were born lacking in certain things. You may have come to buy that your capacities are limited and that you can’t achieve great things.

But a belief about yourself isn’t Truth. God gave us our true identity. He filled us up with all the qualities for success and made them easily accessible to us. You were built to shine with a powerful light and to share that easily, freely, and with impact.

You were made with love in your heart and soul, and with an innate awareness of God’s Love for you. You were not made to degrade yourself or others, but to feel that rich and right desire to love just as God loves you.

And you were designed to be obedient to God’s plan for you and for all. His supreme control is reflected in your ability to be faithful to goodness, to follow a higher path, to be organized and clear and progressive, and to be unafraid. You have been bestowed, naturally, with all that guarantees success.

This achievement is Spirit’s gift, not material attainment or demonstration. It comes of God, the everlasting Presence, so these wonderful attributes are always available to claim, each day, without conditions upon them.

You are powerful, loving, and obedient to God. You are fearlessly ready to do great things and to do them with gratitude and joy!
