“The light produces in men…everything that is wholesome and good and true. Let your lives be living proofs of the things which please God.” (Ephesians 5: 10-11, JB Phillips New Testament)

The light of Christ, that good news of our divine heritage, causes us to see ourselves more clearly. We become enlightened, illumined by the understanding that we are God’s own children, formed out of His goodness and Love.

This light of divine Life not only reveals our true wholeness and wholesomeness, it also exposes the dust and dirt that doesn’t dignify us or our Source. Turning to God to know ourselves better, we begin to see that what is unlike His nature is also not a part of us. To claim and live something opposed to who we were meant to be, is to live dishonestly and this is not easy nor powerful.

Let’s recognize that we are made to be and to do good. We are caused and called to be the expression of God’s own qualities of Life and of Love. God is Truth. Our honest acceptance of our own real goodness, perfection, peace, selfless love and open hearts, pleases God because we are being true to Him and to ourselves.

God’s radiant reality has been revealed to us through the Christ-message. We are, indeed, children of God! Let us rejoice in this Truth and live it up—uprightly, fully, gratefully, honestly, and with the heartfelt motive to bless.
