“God told them, ‘I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!’” (Jeremiah 31: 3, the Message)
Yes! This is God’s perpetual promise. There has never been a moment where God has not loved us. He created us because of His Love, and to be both the expression and object of that Love. This is our inherent, unchanging purpose.
We may feel that we have strayed from God’s Love, from His approval, or that He has left us high and dry. We may feel unworthy, neglected, or abandoned. But all these perceptions are not reality. They are based on a material, limited view—on the ego and its own sense of separation and fear. We find ourselves evaluating God’s Love based on what we think it should look like and feel like.
But divine Love is so much greater than that. It is a spiritual constant. It is infinitely present and infinitely ours to receive. When we yield the ego’s mistaken sense of who we are and who God is, we begin to experience the Love that has always been there—nurturing, comforting, saving, bringing us laughter, peace, progress.
We begin to feel God’s Love by being awake to it. This divine affection is always here and always has been—active within us as well as around us. And there is always more where that came from. So, we can truly expect love, love, and more love!
