Daily Inspiration, July 20th

“And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.” (II Corinthians 1: 10, New Living Translation)

God’s hand is always ready to save us. We are constantly in His sight and we can trust His readiness and His faithful care for us.

We may at times feel that we are in a hopeless situation and that there is no way out of it. But God’s power, wisdom, and Love does not see such limits. We likely can look back at other points in our lives where we felt we would be lost, and yet there was a rescue, an unexpected uplift, new opportunity, a saving gift of grace. In those times, God rescued us from that sense of despair and into gratitude.

And He will do it again. And again. And again. We can continue to place our confidence in a power beyond the human, the material and mortal beliefs about life, and be saved by the divine reality. God’s presence is ever with us and His Love is always for us. Don’t be afraid. Don’t accept the threats against your peace, no matter how aggressive they may seem. Get ready for a perfect and timely rescue!

“We are confident of all this because of our great trust in God through Christ. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.” (II Corinthians 3: 4-5, New Living Translation)

We can accomplish amazing things! We are called to do much good with our lives. The inspired mission we each have been given, uniquely and powerfully, is not one that relies on personal experience or education or on the endorsement of others.

Our ability, our qualification to do great things, comes from God. He Himself has built us with true capacity and given us His stamp of approval. And so, we can have confidence in ourselves and our lives as we trust. God’s purpose for us comes with His wisdom, power, and guarantee of success. It isn’t about what we think we know or do not know, but about what God is and does.

We are qualified by God—by His hand in creating us and the constancy of His hand on us, supporting and guiding, as we do His work. When we seek to do good, we align with God. We are His representatives; we don’t walk into any circumstance or situation on our own. We bring with us the whole of God’s intention, His mandate, and His sure ability to carry it out.

Confidence is yours to claim. This is not bravado or arrogance. It is release, reliance, a grateful and active trust in God as the One Who called us to do magnificent things and to do them for and with and in Him—in glorious Life and powerful Love!

Daily Inspiration, July 13th

“…let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, confirming the work that we do. Oh, yes. Affirm the work that we do!” (Psalms 90: 17, Message Bible)

We often yearn for validation, for affirmations from others that we are doing well and that we are valuable. We seek others’ approval and react to opinions that are critical or unsupportive.

But, let’s begin to look beyond the judgment of other people and gain a confirmation about ourselves and our work that is truly legitimate, valid, and strengthening. We can, as the psalmist did, seek that great smile of God to assure us in our lives. God made us for His highest purpose, and gave us everything needed to faithfully carry it out. He is pleased when we act like ourselves, like the gifted ideas that we uniquely and magnificently are.

Let God’s “loveliness”—that loving and beautiful and inspiring and beaming blessing—rest upon us. Let God’s confirming Word be what assures us of our success, our goodness, our worthiness, and that shines a light on our path going forward.

When we set aside the judgment of others and our own self-criticism, we can hear God’s voice, feel His hand guiding us, and have all the affirmation we really need to do good in the world, with satisfaction, productivity, fruitfulness, and joy.

“The Lord your God among you is powerful—he will save and he will take joyful delight in you. In his love he will renew you with his love; he will celebrate with singing because of you.” (Zephaniah 3: 17, International Standard Version)

This really is everything we could ever want or need. And it isn’t simply a wish, but the honest-to-God Truth of our lives.

God is with us and He is powerful. God is omnipotent goodness. He is actively protecting us from anything unlike Him, from anything that may appear as a threat to the reality that He has made, the kingdom of His harmonious creation. His strength and certainty is our reliance. We don’t need to be brave mortals with everything figured out. God’s confident all-power is ours to lean into everywhere. It surrounds us and supports us.

Our ever-present God also celebrates us! He sings over your very being every moment, without pause. He simply can’t cease to rejoice over you and what you so beautifully are, the very unique and precious image of His own dynamic splendor.

In his love he will renew you with his love. Here is a promise to cherish. Because of His Love and through that Love (not through human self-judgment, suffering, struggle, competition, time) we are always being renewed. God loves us each moment, so each moment we are subject to His refreshing. Divine Love baptizes, cleanses, and awakens us to our life today—the right and beautiful one we deserve, accompanied by God’s triumphant song of joy, His enthusiastic anthem for you!

“Don’t hold back. Don’t be timid. Be strong! Be confident!” (Joshua 10: 25, The Message Bible)

Yes! Let’s not be afraid or shy about how we live our lives. Let’s take this invitation to heart and choose thoughts and actions that feel free, strong, and fearless. We have a right to live without holding back, and a duty to share the gifts and inspiration that God has given to us.

This bold confidence isn’t about arrogant pushing. It really isn’t about human bravery at all. It is that conscious surrender to God’s presence, control, and power that makes all things possible. As we yield to infinite Life and Love, and recognize the divine Mind as our very own, we can live with the certainty and joy that this awareness reveals.

You are one with God and the very evidence of His nature. You are not weak and lacking, ignorant or unworthy. You are the very radiance of the sun that is God, and you emanate from that Source. The sun isn’t shy about shining. It doesn’t ask whether it is good enough. It simply beams forth, bringing light and warmth naturally to all. It is power and strength, but it isn’t at all forced.

Don’t hold back! Shine your light just as God made it to glow. Go forth into each new day knowing that you illumine it, and that Omnipotence is with you, the very Source and presence of your Life, every moment of every glorious day!

Daily Inspiration, July 4th

“Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.” (Romans 12: 21, New Living Translation)

Evil can come in many forms. It can be the more obvious oppression of hatred and subjugation and war and selfish aggression toward others. Or it can be subtler—those darker suggestions that come to our own thought looking for attention, focus, acceptance, resignation, or fear. This evil can be a state of self-condemnation or unkind judgment of self or others. It can be the evil that lives in a state of outrage and anger and actively resists receptivity to solutions, peace, even compromise.

Let’s not let evil, in thought or actions, conquer us. Let’s not allow this overt or sneaky belief to take us over. Instead, let’s be on the offensive against it. When the anger, blame, vengefulness, or destructiveness appears or threatens to, let’s be more aggressive in combatting this in the only way that has power.

By doing good. For God is good and He is omnipotent. Evil loses its hold on us as we shelter ourselves in the awareness that we are one with God and that we are the natural expression of all that He is. This is the fortress where we are safe, strong, and our truest selves. Let’s actively do good ourselves and in the world, not by giving evil our fear or focus, but by consciously doing what is loving and right, seeing goodness in others and for them, and seeking harmony.

Evil can’t conquer you if your weapons are the right ones—love, peace, receptivity, compassion, kindness, mercy, and conscious gratitude to God, good, for being All-in-all.

Daily Inspiration, June 20th

“When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the Lord thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” (Deuteronomy 20: 1)

God’s presence is power. The awareness of this presence is peace. We have God and all that He is with us every moment, in every circumstance. This precious reminder to the children of Israel is ours as well. It is an assurance with an implied demand.

We are being reminded that Omnipotent goodness is with us. And we are being told to wake up to that fact and to give up the fear. We, like those biblical seekers, may be confronted with enemies that seem larger than ourselves—greater in number and more forceful than our own individual convictions—but we don’t need to be afraid. We can face the seeming power of opinions, organizations, poverty, lack, disease, hate, with serene certainty of victory.

For we are not alone. Our devotion to good and our status as children of God—of Spirit, of Truth, of Life, and of Love—is more powerful by far than any appearance of material opposition. We are one with infinite rightness, protected by God’s government and unchallenged law of Love and Life. The horses and chariots and armies of doubt, fear, and distraction, are easily vanquished in God’s presence, and through our conscious acceptance of this Truth of being, for ourselves and for our world as well.

Daily Inspiration, June 15th

“Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.” (Psalms 27: 14, Amplified Bible)

This instruction in patience may be difficult to heed at times. We may feel that we have already been patient enough, waiting for blessings and goodness and peace. We may feel uncertain and restless and discouraged by challenges in our lives.

But we can wait with confidence for God’s grace and goodness. We can find our strength in God’s certainty, not our own willfulness or bravado. Our hearts can take courage and be strong by knowing that we are waiting not only for, but within, the very presence of divine Love. That human sense of impatience can be stilled as we recognize that we are not now and never have been separate from the Truth, God, good, the solution.

And that rest in the presence of God and His Truth, gives us that peace as we “wait” for the unfolding of good to be seen in our daily experience. We can remain confident because we are safe in the Love of divine Love and our lives are under the wisdom of a perfect Mind.

Expect the Lord. Expect the best. Expect Life’s answers to be better than you may dream of. Don’t brace for the worst. Await, with expectation, with joyous anticipation, God’s surprise—His right revelation of His glorious and ideal day!

Daily Inspiration, June 13th

“The Kingdom of God does not come in such a way as to be seen. No one will say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’; because the Kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17: 20-21, Good News Translation)

The Kingdom of God isn’t a place or a plane of existence. It isn’t some bright hope for tomorrow or some attainment that comes when we leave this earth. The Kingdom—that heavenly, harmonious reality of Life—is within you.

And that means it is yours to claim and enjoy right here and now. But you are not the creator of this glorious ideal. You don’t have to design and build some perfect perspective and existence that shines with the glories of God and His goodness. It is God that caused this great domain and gave it to us. What is within us is this innate awareness of Love and Truth. It is the core of who we are, and when we honor it, when we yield to God’s Truth of Life, we indeed feel present in that magnificent realm of peace, joy, and power.

Stop waiting for the stars to align. Give up the sense that you have to endlessly strive to make a perfect life for yourself or for others. The Kingdom is complete and ready and yours. It is attained by conscious acceptance. It is a surrender to God as All, and to ourselves as dwelling in His Love and Life presently, permanently, and perfectly.

You have natural access to this harmonious feeling and knowing, this trustworthy presence, your true home. Let’s stop looking outside of ourselves for what is already ours within—so freeing, satisfying, and just right.

Daily Inspiration, June 8th

“…let us pursue [with enthusiasm] the things which make for peace and the building up of one another [things which lead to spiritual growth].” (Romans 14: 19, Amplified Bible)

What are we pursuing? Are we chasing after money or fame or appreciation by others? Are we living our lives defensively, in fear, or with a sense of competition? Do we brace ourselves for the worst rather than living in trust and expectation?

As we turn to God, good, and recognize the presence and power of Love, we can naturally begin to pursue better ideals and to achieve them. We enthusiastically seek to be peacemakers, to be helpers, to boost each other up instead of judging one another or simply “looking out for number one.”

For the true way to our own peace and joy and satisfaction is in doing what God created us to do. He made us to love, to give, to unite with one another as the harmonious creation that we truly are. When we help one another rather than accuse, expect trouble, or fear, the natural result is spiritual growth. And this is true progress as well as power. It necessarily leads us to know our own best selves and to be what we were designed to be. This unfolding awareness defines our purpose and refines our character in ways that are not only admirable but also authentic, healing, and so very satisfying.

Enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to be a peacemaker and a conscious force for good in your own life and for mankind!
