Daily Inspiration, May 18th

As the Father loved Me, I also loved you. Remain in My love…I have spoken these things to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” (John 15: 9, 11 Modern English Version)

Jesus knew all about love. He thoroughly felt divine Love and knew the loyal and abundant and ever-present nature of its Source. Jesus knew that because he was one with God, Who is Love, he himself was Love’s expression and object. And this was a joy to him.

As the Master spoke to his apostles, he gave them this rich benediction and promise. The love that Jesus shared in the world, and felt for his followers, was strong and enduring. It emanated in his words and his works. Just as Jesus’s words would continue to impel his disciples to heal and to spread the good news for centuries to come, his love would also live on.

Jesus made it clear that this precious and powerful Love wasn’t going anywhere. It is as deathless as God, Life, and forever with each one of us. And this is our promise of joy. This happiness and full satisfaction that Jesus intimately understood, remains here for us all.

Jesus’s gift to his followers was not simply love and words distributed in a short human lifetime. The true treasure he gave was opening our eyes to the Truth of Life and Love as ever with us, for us, in us to be known and rejoiced in eternally and now!

Daily Inspiration, May 16th

“My dear friends, you should be quick to listen and slow to speak or to get angry. If you are angry, you cannot do any of the good things that God wants done.” (James 1: 19-20, Contemporary English Version)

Yes, my dear friends! Let’s take this inspired advice. Let’s be listeners not only to the words of others, but to the Truth about them and about ourselves. Let’s pause before we leap to judgment and give God, good, Love, an opportunity to speak to us and to bring light to what may feel like a dark or challenging situation.

Anger can seem justified at times. It may seem we are being provoked or that we must rise up and be defensive. But resentment and disagreement doesn’t get a lot done. It perpetuates hate and division and those unhealthy sentiments that may rev us up, but won’t get us anywhere fast.

God has a better plan for us. He wants us to achieve His goodness and make a real impact on others in a positive and beneficial way. God is Love and He is One. Hate and division are never going to please Him, nor can they make use of His power to accomplish.

On the contrary, when peace and love reside within us; when we listen instead of lashing out, we can do great good for God, for others, and feel true contentment ourselves as well.

“Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil.” (Science and Health, page 571)

What does it mean to know ourselves? And what does it take to really do this and be ready for wisdom and that sweet opportunity for victory?

Well, in Truth, it begins with knowing God. It is by knowing our Creator and His Mind better that we are able to become clearer on who we really are and what is right for us. Perceiving and accepting God as the Source of our Life and His nature (goodness, intelligence, love) as ours to express, we can begin to set aside the limits on who we believe we are and claim and live the reality of who we truly are.

In this discovery, we can’t leave out individual self-awareness. We must let God’s light reveal to us what doesn’t jibe with His true vision—that unreal and unnecessary view that includes fear and anger and self-doubt and material limit. We need to take that conscious pause to recognize what really doesn’t suit our magnificence, and to let it go, to give it up because it isn’t God-given, so it isn’t truly ours at all.

Likewise, when we honestly and intentionally delve into our own being and thinking, we can also come to discover and to love ourselves for just who we are. We may begin to see that those qualities that we belittle about ourselves, actually express God in a very special and precious way—one worth celebrating, not hiding or condemning.

Get to know yourself. Relish the opportunity to get acquainted with God’s child. Seek and find without fear. You are amazing and the sooner you get to realizing that and to being your best and truest self, the sooner that great victory over evil, discord, and limits will come, so naturally and beautifully!

Daily Inspiration, May 9th

“Get to know God, and you’ll be at peace with him, and then prosperity will come to you. Accept what he has to teach you, and treasure his words in your heart.” (Job 22: 21-22, International Standard Version)

If we seek a fuller life and a greater sense of understanding, we must go to the Source. We must get to know our divine Life and Mind. We must draw close enough to God to hear His guiding voice and learn His healing instruction.

Getting to know God begins by recognizing that we are not trying to approach an unknowable being, or one who doesn’t care about us. Knowing God correctly is knowing Him as His very nature. God is Life, Truth, and Love. He is Father and Mother, the One Creator. He is goodness. He is immortal Spirit, the everlasting and eternal Soul of all that is beautiful, pure, good, right, and ours to express and experience.

When we take the time and dedication to shut off preconceived ideas, opinions, beliefs, and fears, and really recognize God as He is, we can’t fail to accept His word. We will want to align ourselves with His goodness, and to be at peace. For He is faithful Love. His wisdom is flawless and always good. He knows us, so His instruction is relevant, precise, and given to us in a way we can truly treasure in our hearts.

And this true knowledge of and closeness to God opens our eyes to what we have and are. Prosperity comes as a natural bonus to feeling and knowing the Life that is boundless and perfect Love.

Daily Inspiration, May 4th

“Prayer cannot change the Science of being, but it tends to bring us into harmony with it.” (Science and Health, page 2)

God’s universe belongs to Him. It expresses His intention at all times and in every place. God is Love and Truth. He created All and His creation is the proof of His own nature made known actively and perpetually.

Infinite goodness is what is. Prayer can’t make God any more Almighty or His ideas any more perfect than they already are. What prayer can do is to lovingly aid us in realizing this Truth. Prayer lifts the blinders to reveal reality and realigns us with God as the Principle and the proof. Our conscious connection with God reveals His perspective—one above the evidence of the misleading senses—and opens the way for peace, health, joy.

God is sustaining His Life at its best at all times. This Life is ours to know. Praying sets us at One with Truth, and the Truth sets us free! Reality is harmony. God’s creation isn’t flawed or vulnerable. When we pray, we listen. We let God describe things for us, and this clear Word from Him drowns out the opposition and helps us to see His goodness and feel the ever-presence of divine Love.

Daily Inspiration, May 2nd

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need…He gives me new strength.
He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised.”
(Psalms 23: 1, 3, Good News Translation)

God’s shepherding presence is our assurance, our calm, our reliance. Begin your days in this conscious awareness, like the Psalmist did. The recognition of abundance—needs already met, paths established and guidance at hand—is our best point of departure.

When we begin with want, with lack, we see only that belief. That attitude of scarcity is the lens through which we view life and its possibilities. But our Shepherd is good, loving, and always caring for us. Our Shepherd is God, and God has no lack of Love, of goodness, of opportunities. And He is also Truth. God has kept His word as His nature requires and has already supplied us with enough. As we recognize and claim this, we will see that we truly have everything we need.

When we attempt to be our own shepherds, to feel that we must create and maintain all and know and be everything at all times, things can feel challenging. But we can easily and naturally gain new strength and fresh views by yielding that control over every little detail of life. We can choose to gratefully lean on God and His Love to show us our pastures already lush with everything we need and more.

Our Shepherd has promised and provided us with His Love. This ever-present Love is tangibly, precisely, and timely, the very substance of all we may seem to need, already abundant and right and at hand.

Daily Inspiration, April 27th

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:” (Isaiah 1: 19)

The good of the land is God’s glorious provision and guidance. It is that flourishing life that God created, one in which we not only survive, but truly thrive.

To freely enjoy this abundant good, forever growing and blooming for our use, a couple of things are required of us. We must be willing and obedient. These are not outside of our capacity nor are they a burden or a hardship; for true willingness and obedience are a beautiful surrender to being who we already are and doing what we most naturally do.

Willingness is that wonderful agreement to give up the arguments of human will and force and reasoning with the brain, in order to yield to the divine ideal. God’s guidance is ready for us and it is much easier to allow His hand to move us than to try to advance contrary to His way, the right and loving and powerful one.

Obedience is not so much about perfect human behavior, but about honoring God as the One Mind and power. It is about recognizing His nature as Love and good and Truth and obeying these supreme qualities. It is letting go of ego and self-justification in order to truly be God’s reflection, His radiant image.

And so, it isn’t really that we gain a land of plenty that we didn’t have before. It is that when we trust God as the Creator, the Provider, our Guide, and our Life, our eyes are opened to what is already generously ours.

Daily Inspiration, April 25th

“Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source.” (Science and Health, page 507)

There will always be something new to see, to feel, to know, to experience. Creativity is never stalled or stagnant, old or uninspired. God is the Source of all, and His ideas are infinite, constantly fresh, and without repetitiveness or dullness.

God’s Mind is inexhaustible. His manner of expression is always vibrant, full of new colors and flavors, without duplicate, and always beautiful and right. God made you, and He not only gives you the ability to be creative (to be the evidence of His own masterful hand), but He has made your life as the very manifestation of His forever-inspired and dynamic thought.

Be at the ready for new and meaningful opportunities, experiences, awareness. Recognize that your Source is boundless, bottomless, and with the intention of perfect Love. Life must ever continue to blossom, and you are the witness to and evidence of that Life!

Get ready for surprises, adventures, and new reasons to celebrate God and His glorious creation!

Daily Inspiration, April 20th

“Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best.” (Proverbs 3: 6-9, The Message Bible)

What an energized call to action and promise of reward! What would it feel like to run to God and away from evil? How do we do that?

Well, certainly the first thing we do is to recognize that the call is legitimate and so is the prize. And then we add to that the assurance that we are so very capable of doing all this—of running forward toward good, rightness, peace, and love. And likewise, we are fully able to give God our very best, as the second part of this passage requires.

For isn’t trusting and honoring God and His reality and harmony and Life truly giving our all to Him? It is dedicating our whole being and mind and life to good. It is giving up that egotistical sense of individual power and control. It is becoming conscious that the material sense of things is not Truth and, therefore, we can’t base our lives around it and its presentations.

Run to God! Leave behind all the excuses. To run away from evil—anger, upset, fear, hatred, resentment, self-justification, selfishness—is to sacrifice the weights that hold us back and keep us down. Our freedom is calling us, and accepting it eagerly, we will feel it more fully—glowing with health and vibrating with glorious Life!

Daily Inspiration, April 18th

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (I Corinthians 13: 7, New Living Translation)

Nothing else has the staying power of Love. Human love that is honest and genuine, doesn’t run away in times of trouble or love someone simply based on their surface presentation. This true love doesn’t give up on another or accuse or blame when things don’t go their way.

But even human love at its best can’t fail to be a bit selfish. For human love is based on connection from a point of separateness, and so a feeling of lack and need sneaks in. We may continue to love another person, but perhaps trust is gone or understanding has been lost.

But divine Love is forever faithful. This available and abundant Love is absolutely ours to feel and know and to share with others freely and conscientiously. God’s Love is Love itself. It is the spiritual quality that is never conditional, but simply is and does as it must. Divine Love is limitless, omnipresent, and always active. This quality of Love is forever at hand, and it gives us a consistent hope and a reliable trust.

We can lean on the Love that is God and know that we reflect it. Love is not separate from us, in another, or in our own possession to hold or to lose. It is God’s eternal quality that stands by and watches and guards and governs and comforts and empowers its ideas with a constant fidelity.

Yield to Love’s presence and let it lead and protect you, and enable you to love and feel loved fully, naturally, faithfully, and powerfully.
