“Here and now we are God’s children. We don’t know what we shall become in the future. We only know that, if reality were to break through, we should reflect his likeness, for we should see him as he really is!” (I John 3: 2, JB Phillips New Testament)
We will never be more God’s children than we are right here, right now. This is a fact, not a hope or some lost state of being. And in this awareness, we discover our true peace and satisfaction.
For to be a child of God is to be the very intentional and ideal conception of God’s own Mind, of His Truth, of His Life, and of His pure Love. This means that we are the beloved. It means that we belong. It means that we reflect the qualities of goodness, light, and purity that are God’s own substance given dynamic expression through His ideas.
To know this is to accept the Christ-Truth that Jesus so powerfully demonstrated. And as we live in Truth, we are awake to reality. Our eyes are open to perceive even more of who we are and Who God is. We may not see all the glorious aspects of our life and our being in this moment, but that doesn’t mean we are not complete and whole now. It is only that with our perception awakened to our heritage, we are in the perfect place to view fresh colors, beauty, and majesty revealing itself in each and every new day.
In this way, we see God as He is—rightly and gloriously—and we see ourselves and others right there in Him and with Him. Every moment. Yesterday. Tomorrow. Right here and now.
