Daily Inspiration, September 7th

“Continue to love each other with true brotherly love. Don’t forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it!” (Hebrews 13: 1-2, Living Bible)

Judging others can close the door to angelic experiences. We may unknowingly have occasion to receive the precious gifts another has to offer us, and miss this beautiful opportunity.

But when we live in God, with an active awareness of Love, we are always in a prime position to witness that Love in action. Beginning in the consciousness of Love, our eyes are open to these blessings, and they can be found in often surprising ways. God’s angels come with precision and power, but they also are accompanied by that wonderful influx of amazement and awe that turns us back to God, Spirit, as the only possible Source.

Be kind to one another and to yourself. We are indeed all brothers and sisters, born of God and made to love. In this activity, we are the most ourselves, and that is already a blessing! Continuing in this most natural behavior, our open hearts and minds are ready to receive even more goodness—angels appearing to us where strangers seem to be, giving us a gift we are ready and worthy to receive!

Daily Inspiration, September 5th

“…brace up your minds, and, as men who know what they are doing, rest the full weight of your hopes on the grace that will be yours when Jesus Christ reveals himself. Live as obedient children before God. Don’t let your character be moulded by the desires of your ignorant days, but be holy in every department of your lives, for the one who has called you is himself holy.” (I Peter 1: 13-16, JB Phillips New Testament)

There is a readiness being urged here. We are being called to truly wake up and take decisive action on our own behalf and for our greater mission in the world. The Christ has revealed the very Truth of our own oneness with God, as His likeness and His beloved. It is high time to act like we know this!

We can lean confidently on what Jesus showed us. We have witnessed through our own deepening understanding and God’s grace towards us, the Truth that sets free. Having this gift, we must utilize it, honor it, and this may require something of us. We can’t love the Christ, the perfect ideal of God’s man, and behave like we never heard of such a thing!

Take a keen look at your thoughts. Do they honor God? Do they honor your own innate goodness and innocence? Are you behaving as one who is holy—moved by Love and goodness, humble and receptive to God in your walk of life?

Being obedient to God is not only being our best selves. It is being our true selves. It is listening to Love’s description of you and believing it. Consciously. Conscientiously. Daily. This isn’t hardship. This is joy, freedom, and healing power!

Daily Inspiration, August 31st

“As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.” (Ezekiel 34: 12)

God is our Shepherd. He is aware of each of His sheep and His vision and Love is our assurance that none of us will ever be lost. God’s kindness and faithfulness seeks us out in the darkness of those false and limiting beliefs about life. When we can’t see our way to peace, He comes to find us with His true and perfect serenity and harmony.

Not only does God bring us to a place where we feel safe and comfortable, He also is able to bring us clarity. That scattered thinking; the confusion that seems to overtake us at times; the overwhelm of too many things to think about or too many choices to make, are all brought into focus through our Shepherd’s guiding voice.

The divine Mind knows what we need and what we need to know. He can break through the noise of the other sheep around us, the wind and the rain and the thunder, with His recognizable and definitive voice of authority. God has enlightened and peaceful wisdom for us at all times. He will deliver us from thinking that is troubled and uncertain, into a mental place that feels inspired, calm, and sure—into the sunlight of Life!

Daily Inspiration, August 29th

“We should examine ourselves and learn what is the affection and purpose of the heart, for in this way only can we learn what we honestly are.”  (Science and Health, page 8)

Knowing who we genuinely are is a key to experiencing a life true to ourselves and faithful to God’s glorious purpose for us.

Discovering ourselves can sound like an act of personality analysis and dissection of our past and our genetics. But fruitful examination begins with seeking the heart for its motives and ideals. It is looking within our deepest selves to find out what moves us, what inspires us, and why. This exploration isn’t something meant to dredge up our guilt or ignorance or fear. It is an adventure we take with divine Love, to get acquainted with the Truth of ourselves as well as to release the lies that want to keep us from finding that satisfying reality.

Don’t be afraid to seek with God. Take His intention with you. God’s plan is not to make you suffer or to punish you. He is causing you to look to your heart’s true affection and purpose so you can live the worthy and wonderful life He made you to live.

Reflect on things with devoted activity but not with anguish. Don’t jump to conclusions, either, or get ahead of what God is sharing with you about who you are and what is right for you. Relish the opportunity to truly put down and out the limits you may be agreeing to, so you can see those pure and lovely desires and capacities that are ready to show themselves. Finding yourself as God made you to be is true heaven!

Daily Inspiration, August 24th

“With all my heart I have sought You, [inquiring of You and longing for You];
Do not let me wander from Your commandments [neither through ignorance nor by willful disobedience].”
(Psalms 119: 10, Amplified Bible)

This is the prayer of an honest heart. It is that earnest yearning to be and do good. It is also a conscious recognition that we cannot do this alone. We need God to show us the way, moment by moment, and to keep us on track.

This plea isn’t a sign of weakness. The prayer acknowledges a deep desire to really know the Truth of absolute oneness with God, and to fully be what He has caused us to be. Yes, there are times that we feel we know so little or that we just can’t seem to stay on track. We stray from listening and push along with our own agenda or with the general currents of human thought.

But our seeking from the heart saves us. For, within us there is a recognition of Love and Life as it truly is. We do naturally hear and seek God’s voice. And while we may wander knowingly or unknowingly from a direct path to peace, that inner desire to know Love’s purpose, will surely and safely lead us home.

Daily Inspiration, August 22nd

“…first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” (Matthew 6: 33, Amplified Bible)

First things first. We are being promised a good human life with our daily needs abundantly met. But we can’t get ahead of ourselves. The way to experience true heaven on earth is to first find it within and express it in our lives. From the heart.

Jesus was reminding his followers then and today that if we want to get into the “kingdom of heaven,” we have to begin to think and act like one who already dwells there. We must obey God’s law by raising the bar for ourselves up to His standards. We must seek after goodness. We must truly yearn not only to be good humans, but to really understand the Truth of God and His Love; to want to be good, to trust, to listen, and to love, because we see our own best treasure in His nature.

When the Truth is felt in our hearts and souls, then we already know what heaven is like. We are in the middle of it and it is in us, as Jesus also told us. And this Love and gratitude within leads us forward to do good in the world, and to witness the truly rich rewards of this righteousness in all ways, right here and right now.

Daily Inspiration, August 17th

Grace_Dove-change

“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (I Peter 4: 10)

Have you ever thought about being a steward of God’s grace? God’s outpouring of good and His nature as Love itself, is a gift beyond measure. What would our life be without the qualities of Love? What would existence be like without God’s light, without beauty, peace, goodness?

Let’s appreciate what we have been given, not only with our gratitude to God for what He does in our own lives, but through our caring stewardship and practice of these qualities toward others. A steward is one who administers as the agent of another. We are not the owners of God’s attributes. We did not create His universe nor do we possess it personally. But, God has revealed His ideal to us. He has given us free access to that great treasure of Love that is the only true power and that accurately expresses His own purpose.

So, let’s properly cherish this Love we feel and know within us, and take care of one another. Let’s feed them with our kindness, our inspiration, our respect and openness. Let’s utilize God’s Love in every way that we can as often as we can, just as Divine Love Himself guides us to do.

Bask in the riches of God’s Love. Feed your sweet selves with His grace, and then willingly, joyously, gratefully share it!

Daily Inspiration, August 15th

“The spacious, free life is from God, it’s also protected and safe. God-strengthened, we’re delivered from evil—when we run to him, he saves us.” (Psalms 37: 39-40, the Message Bible)

Our true and natural and rightful life is spacious. It isn’t confining or limited. We aren’t stuck or stymied in it. Our life is not time and circumstance. It is a space for spiritual adventure. It is the way in which we actively express God’s own nature, and demonstrate our birthright of freedom.

Don’t let a material picture of your life push you around. The obstacles that seem to appear in your own life or around you are not the boss of you! God has given us His free Life. It is one that is up to His standards for us—beautiful, majestic, uniquely wonderful, productive, fun, childlike, expectant. This spaciousness of being is already within us and it is our right to express it. Know this. Start from a premise, a true premise, of your unfettered Life. Be open to the influx of saving inspiration, opportunity, rescue, rest.

Run to God. Choose enthusiastically to engage in goodness, Life, and Love, rather than to cower or to accept an unjust and unlovely sentence. Turn willingly to God for His guidance, His vision, and His Truth. His strength and confidence never waver. He knows what your Life is about and how wonderful it is. He can keep you safe while you frolic in His boundless possibilities!

Daily Inspiration, August 10th

“Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won’t let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us.” (Hebrews 12:1, Contemporary English Version)

We have a responsibility to move forward, to progress, and to make a difference. We are being called to a higher goal than merely slogging through the days, settling for less than what is freeing, right, and healing for us and for all. Don’t think for a minute that you are not one with a mission, for indeed you are. And it is a divine intention that is powerful as well as individually satisfying.

This “large crowd of witnesses” Paul speaks of here are those inspired prophets and spiritual seekers who have actively testified to Truth with their very being. These biblical leaders as well as those in our own era, are proof of the Principle—that Truth of God as All, as good, and as Love.

Will we merely leave what they have given us untended, unexpressed, because we don’t believe we are good enough, ready enough, or motivated enough? Or will we trust that what these inspired ones have declared and proved is our model going forward, and that our gratitude for this gift is that we keep it alive?

What is it that slows us in this race, this confident journey forward in doing good, as God guides us individually? The “sin” that won’t let go is our buying into a belief that we are separate from God, attracted to evil, full of guilt and shame. Let’s drop that baggage. It is the lie about you and it is the lie about God. He made you to shine, to bear witness to His Christ, His ongoing purpose to shine light in the darkness and awaken humanity to their true goodness, harmony, and freedom!

Daily Inspiration, August 8th

“…step by step will those who trust Him find that ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.’” (Science and Health, page 444)

Trusting God will reveal a protection and confidence in our lives. As we let go of personal control or a feeling of being at the mercy of material events and persons, we can then lean on God, the One Mind Who is reliable, wise, loving, and omnipotent—the only true power.

Let’s learn to do this. Step by step. Day by day. Hour by hour. It may sometimes seem difficult to have this kind of faith in Spirit, in what we may not initially be able to see with our eyes or grasp fully through human thinking. But we have the wonderful opportunity each moment to begin to put this trust into practice. We have the occasion each hour to decide whether to succumb to discouragement and fear about life, or to turn to God for our refuge, our strength, our very present help in any kind of trouble.

Try it. See what it feels like to let go of preconceived ideas and fears and to let God reveal His goodness, abundance, and Love to you. One step at a time, walk with Him. Don’t try to get ahead of Him nor cower behind Him. You are always being accompanied by divine Love. Trust this Love to be there with answers. Trust yourself to hear them. Try loosening your grip and handing over the reins to God. I think you’ll find the ride is much freer, more progressive, and full of delightful, insightful surprises and healing goodness to see and experience!
