Daily Inspiration, December 5th

“You are an open letter about Christ which we ourselves have written, not with pen and ink but with the Spirit of the living God. Our message has been engraved not in stone, but in living men and women.” (II Corinthians 3: 2-3, JB Phillips New Testament)

God’s Word was given to us through the Christ. This revealed Truth is known to us and it is ours to freely express. As we accept this reality of being, this saving message of Oneness with God, we are a living missive, sharing what we know by being who we truly are.

This Spirit within us, this conscious awareness of God’s presence, has made an impression upon us. It has left a mark that can’t be hidden and that only becomes more beautifully clear and more thoroughly understood as we walk the talk, live the facts with grateful joy and with the true spirit of Love.

The Truth of Life isn’t some dead belief, lost in the ages or in the pages of books. It is that reality that is seen in the lives of men and women. If we are to follow the words and works of Jesus, then this message has to be alive—it has to transcend the tombs of fear and limitation and rise up and out into Life.

This is our calling and it is our nature expressed. For the Truth isn’t a hope. It is who we are. So, let’s live this awesome reality. Let’s be that letter, an open and receptive one, with a fresh page every day to see and to be God’s living word of Love.

Daily Inspiration, November 30th

“Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.” (Psalms 64: 1)

We often long for preservation, a saving grace for our lives. We are looking to be kept whole and healthy. We want our supply to remain and multiply, our youth to stay with us, and our lives to be peaceful. We pray to be preserved not only from those threats of physical danger and hatred, but to be kept safe in all ways.

This psalm reminds us that the essential thing we want taken from our lives is fear. This prayer is a plea for release from fear of the enemy, and I think this is the most healing place to begin our prayers as well. For, it is fear that robs us of peace. It is fear that hides the beauty of each day and its power to heal us, rather than harm us. It is this frightened sense of things that keeps us feeling limited, weary, apathetic, and truly not alive.

It is the fear itself that is a deadly and deadening experience. And our recourse is not in pretending we aren’t afraid or being humanly brave. It is in this turning to God, as the psalmist did, for the Truth. In our humble trust in God, we discover our Oneness with Him, and this brings assurance, serenity, confidence. When we turn to God, we turn away from trouble, and we can begin to free ourselves from the belief that our lives demand our fear, when they really demand our living!

Your voice is heard by God. He knows you and your life as He has made it to be and as He keeps it—in His Love, in His Mind, in His tender care and powerful, preserving presence.

Daily Inspiration, November 28th

“I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message, that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us…” (John 17: 20, Amplified Bible)

Jesus prayed for all of us. This prayer made in the presence of his immediate apostles was also his promise for us today—for Jesus was the Truth-teller and proved all that he declared.

He wanted all to know and acknowledge with him that we are One. This oneness is our unbreakable connection to the Christ, to the very truth of who we are. The Christ-consciousness that Jesus taught and practiced, accepts and cherishes our oneness with God and therefore, with each other. We are forever inseparable from God, Spirit, Truth, and this reality is unconfined. It was not limited to the era when Jesus lived nor to a specific group of people.

Jesus’s message preceded his physical presence and follows it as well. The Master came to show us what has always been true—that God is One and that Love is His nature and the very law of Life. As we trust this Truth, we feel the power of this eternal prayer. We feel Jesus’s own earnest desire for us, the divine purpose for which he lived, died, and was resurrected.

Let’s abide in this prayer. Let’s rest in its glory and act accordingly—loving one another because there is no him and me, no them and us. There is only One.

Daily Inspiration, November 23rd

“You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit].” (II Corinthians 9: 11, Amplified Bible)

Our thanksgiving goes a long way. We give conscious gratitude for all that God has given to us. With this awareness, we find ourselves resting in treasures that are ripe and ready to share with others.

God has enriched us with all that is needful to be generous. We are truly given more than enough because He requires us to express His own goodness, light, and love. God created us to bear witness to His own nature, His qualities and completeness, so that the name of Love and Life are known everywhere.

Be still today in recognition of what God has given you. These blessings may well be people and things, good food and a roof over your head. But, be thankful also for those imperishable things that go beyond that. God’s Life is full of more than what the physical eyes may behold. It is brimming with opportunity, with inspiration, with connection, with wisdom, with laughter and light and intelligence. Divine Love is infinite, filling all space, and is ready for our claiming and sharing.

Allow yourself to rest in the good that you see as well as that which is at hand which you may not see. And by sharing your grateful heart with others, in your acts and in your thoughts, this goodness naturally and necessarily multiplies. The celebration extends beyond our individual friends and families to embrace the whole family of man.

Daily Inspiration, November 21st

“The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing…” (I Corinthians 2: 14-15, The Message Bible)

It may seem like the qualities of God, the spiritual sense of Life and its glories, are beyond comprehension. The material presentations seem so large and real. The senses demand our active attention and our trust. We may feel that the Truth of God, His idea, and His heavenly creation, is ethereal stuff—dreamy unreality.

But our spiritual sense knows better. We can’t understand God’s nature and His promises for us if we expect to discover Spirit through matter. We can’t truly behold limitlessness through a lens of limitation. Spirit is known through that place deep within us that God put there. It is that space in our heart that simply feels right and uplifted and comforted and alive when it hears the Truth.

And as we live in this trust of what we know is right and good in spite of the senses, we are truly alive. This spiritual living is expansive. It fills us up because we are actively seeing our connection with abundance—with God’s infinite provision of intelligence, substance, insight, guidance, and boundless Love. We are seeing our true spiritual nature, and this grateful awareness expands our vision and allows us to generously and enthusiastically share our blessings with others as well!

Daily Inspiration, November 16th

“Here and now we are God’s children. We don’t know what we shall become in the future. We only know that, if reality were to break through, we should reflect his likeness, for we should see him as he really is!” (I John 3: 2, JB Phillips New Testament)

We will never be more God’s children than we are right here, right now. This is a fact, not a hope or some lost state of being. And in this awareness, we discover our true peace and satisfaction.

For to be a child of God is to be the very intentional and ideal conception of God’s own Mind, of His Truth, of His Life, and of His pure Love. This means that we are the beloved. It means that we belong. It means that we reflect the qualities of goodness, light, and purity that are God’s own substance given dynamic expression through His ideas.

To know this is to accept the Christ-Truth that Jesus so powerfully demonstrated. And as we live in Truth, we are awake to reality. Our eyes are open to perceive even more of who we are and Who God is. We may not see all the glorious aspects of our life and our being in this moment, but that doesn’t mean we are not complete and whole now. It is only that with our perception awakened to our heritage, we are in the perfect place to view fresh colors, beauty, and majesty revealing itself in each and every new day.

In this way, we see God as He is—rightly and gloriously—and we see ourselves and others right there in Him and with Him. Every moment. Yesterday. Tomorrow. Right here and now.

Daily Inspiration, November 14th

“And forgive us our sins, For we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us [who has offended or wronged us]. And lead us not into temptation [but rescue us from evil].” (Luke 11: 4, Amplified Bible)

Forgiveness is a key to freedom. To forgive others and to feel forgiven ourselves is a liberty that is heaven. It is what Jesus wanted us to feel and to know. He was always leading his followers to an awareness of the kingdom of harmonious being at hand.

To consciously forgive and to seek to be forgiven, puts us in that rightful place to feel the healing presence of peace. We can recognize and claim that Love that is always at the ready to expel the resentments toward others and ourselves. If we look for forgiveness within our personal sense of things, we may find it difficult to really gain it. But, as we turn to God, to divine Love itself, we can begin to feel the Love that isn’t judging circumstances or behavior, that isn’t about victims and villains, but it always seeing truly.

The Truth is that we are all children. Yes, we do need to learn and grow and discover, but we are, at our core and in God’s eyes, His own children, loving and beloved. It is what we are and who we want to be. Forgiving others and allowing ourselves to receive the ready forgiveness of divine Truth, releases us from any false identity. We can give up the burden of fear, hatred, lingering in the past and losing today. We can become who we truly were meant to be, and this is empowering and peaceful.

And God helps us with this, as this prayer reminds us. He leads us and rescues us from the temptation to continue in sin—straying from our essence, from the Love that we are and that we have to share.

Daily Inspiration, November 9th

“For we are God’s masterpiece, created in the Messiah Jesus to perform good actions that God prepared long ago to be our way of life.” (Ephesians 2: 10, International Standard Version)

Yes, you are God’s masterful creation. You are made to declare with your very being the powerful and beautiful Truth that the Messiah revealed.

Jesus demonstrated what it means to be this masterpiece of God. He showed us who we truly are and what that makes possible for each one of us. In fact, we must be this brilliant ideal, because God’s creation knows no opposition. What He brings forth, and daily announces through His living Love, stays true to His intention.

And this holy purpose for us is not something we can alter or lose. God’s design is already made for us. This is not limiting. It is true and glorious freedom! God’s plan is what the Messiah told us: It is immortality. It is inspiration. It is health and peace. It is Love and Life transcending the limits of sense. It is heaven on earth.

This fully-prepared way of life, is a blessing and utterly satisfying. God has already caused this life of ours to be up to His amazing standards. It is also wonderfully natural. What is required of us is to be witness to His daily unfolding good, this divine plan revealed here and now as we walk forward in expectation, trust, gratitude, and love.

Daily Inspiration, November 7th

“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct he should show his works done in the gentleness that wisdom brings.” (James 3: 13, New English Bible)

Wisdom is certainly something we hope to have and to express. We want to be discerning and intelligent in our actions and make choices for our lives that are right.

From this passage, it seems clear that if we have true wisdom, it is demonstrated not only in good behavior, but in gentleness. This is the awareness that is also understanding. It is that conscious intelligence that is not only nice, but also kind, compassionate, patient, gentle. This wisdom does not come merely with age or by experience. It is that which flows forth naturally from God Who is Love. It is through our Oneness with divine Love that we are truly wise and can prove it rightly and with healing evidence.

To be gentle is to be calm, soothing, peaceable towards others. It is to make sure one feels cared for and relaxed and safe. It is to be tender with others, having that wise perception that knows the need and meets it with genuine thoughtfulness and grace.

This is wisdom born of Love. And while it is sweet and humble, it also has the power and effectiveness of God behind it.

Daily Inspiration, November 2nd

“I, the Lord, made you, and I will not forget you. I have swept away your sins like a cloud. I have scattered your offenses like the morning mist.” (Isaiah 44: 21-22, New Living Translation)

God won’t ever forget you. What this means for us is wonderful and healing! Infinite Mind and Life and Love will never neglect us or leave us alone. None of us ever gets lost in the crowd or left without help or guidance or protection.

We were made in God’s image and likeness, and that is also what He will never forget about you. God never fails to sustain in His Mind the very idea that He so brilliantly conceived. You remain at all times whole, worthy, right, good. The offenses that may make us feel less that holy and pure, are not held in God’s Mind. The human life and time and physiology and belittling arguments about us, don’t have any place in God’s vision of us.

And what God knows and sees of us is absolute Truth. This perfection, innocence, deserving goodness that is the reality of our natural being, is never lost. We don’t personally sustain our rightness. God does. He never forgets the whole and holy ones we truly are and we must never forget Him. We must and can consciously remember God and the healing fact that our identity is not about what we believe, but about what God knows!
