“My prayer for you is that you may have still more love—a love that is full of knowledge and wise insight. I want you to be able always to recognise the highest and the best, and to live sincere and blameless lives until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1: 9-10, JB Phillips New Testament)

Let’s accept the blessing that this prayer bestows. We can acknowledge and cherish the natural progress that is ours. This is not a growth in human smarts, personal career success, an accumulation of accolades or of money. The sincere desire in this prayer is that we gain what is most freeing, powerful, and healing: Love.

As we receive this benediction, we find ourselves ready for an experience that is more full of genuine love, a love that is deep and divine. This love is also wisdom, an understanding affection whereby we see things more clearly. It makes us honestly compassionate, forgiving, and helpful. This expanding love opens us up to insights that lead to lives that are good, sincere, and impactful in the world.

Every day we should pursue and expect to see and feel more of that love that Paul is talking about here. We can open our hearts to that natural influx of God’s love which guides us toward the best, the highest, and the rightest lives. As we make that love our own and utilize it towards others, it only continues to grow and grow and grow.

Daily Inspiration, February 20th, 2020

“Pause where you are, and ponder the wonders of God.” (Job 37: 14, the Voice Translation)

Hold everything! Don’t wait until a better moment. Right here and now, pause and ponder.

No, don’t ruminate or analyze or overthink human situations and relationships, and the worries and fears that seem to come with that kind of thinking. Take that pause to reflect on God and His wonders. That is, take in what is real and true and awesome in power and beauty and presence. The wonders of God are around you and within you.

Love is speaking in your heart, telling you of its sweetness, tenderness, saving grace. God’s heavenly hand has made our amazing earth. Gratefully and thoughtfully see this glorious place with eyes open to what is here, in both the small ideas and the grander landscapes of life.

And in all this, remember the Source. God, good, the Creator Who is Life, is with you now, here, whispering assurances. Infinite Soul is reminding you gently, yet firmly, that you are one of His greatest wonders. Let’s pause and rejoice!

Daily Inspiration, February 18th, 2020

“We cannot fill vessels already full. They must first be emptied. Let us disrobe error. Then, when the winds of God blow, we shall not hug our tatters close about us.” (Science and Health, page 201)

It’s hard to let go. At times we feel that what we are familiar with is most comfortable. It seems like our memories, our regrets, our failures, and fears make up our very being. How can we let go of ourselves?

We certainly can’t be free of who we are. But discovering our genuine being can set us free. If we are to gain a new perspective and live with more energy and enthusiasm, health and peace, it’s necessary to release those tattered clothes. We must give up those old and unsuitable beliefs about ourselves and about life in general.

God is Life. This divine Life of ours is always new, always active, alive. We can experience the activity of God’s renewing presence as we make room for it. Be willing to clear out that mental vessel of clutter and shame and doubt and self-judgment and make room for the good news.

The Truth of our innocence and freedom can’t share space with the lies and accusations that we might be clinging to. Let those dense and dark and depressing ideas go. You deserve better. Let in the light, the refreshing goodness of God, which is ready now to fill you up with inspiration, freshness, light, and grace!

Daily Inspiration, February 13th, 2020

“Do not fear, O land. You have been revived. Celebrate and rejoice, for the Eternal One has done great things!” (Job 2: 21, the Voice Translation)

The Eternal One is powerfully active, right here and now. Ever-present Life is revealing itself through the ideas which express it. God is maintaining His qualities of newness, beauty, greatness, in our land, in the rich pasture of our experience.

Let’s wake up to that reviving action, that divine influence that is leading us out of fear, out of paranoia, out of darkness and into the light of fresh goodness for us. We can be awake to the good that is around us and to that reality of Life that the material perspective can seem to hide from us.

The limiting view would keep us dreary and doubting, negative and cynical. But this attitude truly isn’t valid, and it certainly isn’t helping us or our world. Let’s actively celebrate Love. Let’s embrace and cherish goodness. Let’s rejoice in joy itself, in laughter and play and fun. Let’s do our very best to let that fear about life, about ourselves, about others, be drowned out in our song of Life—revived, ready, awake, and grateful!

Daily Inspiration, February 11th, 2020

“The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise.” (Lamentations 3: 22-23, Good News Translation)

We can count on God’s Love. The divine compassion, affection, kindness, is enduring, present, reliable. This powerful, active, goodness is as true and new as each sunrise.

God’s mercy is radiant and as broad and colorful and enlightening as the dawn can be. It doesn’t leave anyone out, and it doesn’t require us to do anything but be aware of it, accept its glow, and relish what the light of Life can bring to us.

This renewing Love is welcoming us in. God’s mercy kisses us awake and lets us know the promise of the day. We can let go of the need to qualify our deserving, to hold on to resentments, complaints, and doubts, and turn our faces upward for this sweet mercy.

God is Love. To Love is what He does, and if we are to honor Him, to honor our lives which are in Him, we can gratefully receive this unfailing, merciful Love each day. And with it, we are naturally inclined to be merciful to others as well, bringing healing sunshine to the world and feeling rich in the glow ourselves.

Daily Inspiration, February 6th, 2020

“Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near.” (Philippians 4: 5, Amplified Bible)

What do we want to present to the world? Does it really matter how we act in our little day to day lives?

Yes! Your true spirit is the evidence of God’s nearness. God’s presence isn’t some threat to us that we must behave or else. It is that availability of His own character with us and in us, at the ready to reveal itself through our inherent goodness. We do naturally have gentle spirits, and we can let this sweet tenderness be a guide in our actions.

And it starts with our thoughts. As we become conscious of God’s infinitude and authority and Love, we can feel those beautiful qualities of graciousness, mercy, selflessness, and patience resonate within us. We are grateful for this Love and realize that its fullness needs to be expressed.

This respect and devotion to God, to Love, becomes alive in our lives, and because its Source is God, it is very powerful. Our simple goodness is healing and radiates out for all to see. Our humble kindness has an impact and shows all that the Lord is indeed near. Hallelujah!

Daily Inspiration, February 4th, 2020

“When someone curses you, bless that person in return. When you are mistreated and harassed by others, accept it as your mission to pray for them. To those who despise you, continue to serve them and minister to them.” (Luke 6: 28-29, The Passion Translation)

These acts of lovingkindness are healing. An honest blessing is the activity of God in our consciousness. It is utilizing the divine Love within us toward another.

When we feel someone has wronged us, it may feel very difficult to do anything but feel hurt or angry, to react in a way that is defensive or emotionally charged. This behavior may feel natural, but there is a more productive way to respond which is truer to our nature.

We aren’t being martyrs or saints when we choose to bless those who harass us. What we are doing is taking an action that is healing, and fully supported by God, the Almighty. This choice to love, to bless actively, can be healing for those who, in their ignorance, may need to feel and understand love better.

And it is also a balm for us. As thought and action focuses on good, we find ourselves in a more genuine place of peace and comfort, and we can feel the upset fading away in the joy of experiencing God’s love in us and in action.

Let’s be what we were meant to be. Lovers. Those who bring their good hearts into the world to help it be a better place, and to feel the rich benefits that God’s Love brings to us as well.

Daily Inspiration, January 30th, 2020

“Follow me along the path to find justice; I’m ready to meet those who love me, bestow true riches upon them, and fill up their lives until their treasuries overflow.” (Proverbs 8: 20-21, the Voice Translation)

This seems like a wonderful arrangement. We play a part in receiving this goodness, discovering what is just and right, and we gain an abundant blessing.

We need to follow God. We must agree to staying the course with our love for God, for good, for Truth, with Love itself as our motive and guiding light. This active yearning for what is right, for a clear sense of divine justice and what that means for mankind, is progressive individually and collectively.

And God is ready to meet us on this journey. He is coming to us, right where we are, as we seek and walk humbly forward the best we can in each moment. Every step we take is greeted by God’s bestowals—His rich ideas, His supply, His direction, His affection, His Truth made evident.

The true riches are coming right at you. Keep facing ahead on the path. Awake to God’s presence in you and with you. Gratefully accept the goodness, vision, clarity, inspiration God is generously ready to supply!

Daily Inspiration, January 28th, 2020

“Do we not all share one father? Has not one God created us all? Why do we all act deceitfully with our brothers and sisters and soil the covenant between God and our ancestors?” (Malachi 2: 10, the Voice Translation)

We are brothers and sisters. We are one family. We have one Father and Mother Who lovingly conceived each one of us.

Let’s treasure each other as we would our own dear family members. Let’s remember that even those that seem so far from us in ideology or in culture or geographically, are still truly our brethren. We are all the offspring of God—infinite good, the Creator of all that is—and so we have a common bond.

And that bond is God Himself; it is Truth and Love. Sure, family members argue. Blood does not necessarily make us alike and always agreeable. But God’s family is more than blood. It is a covenant, as this verse reminds us, a holy contract between our Father and His children. And this is an agreement that we should honor, keep pure by our thoughts and behavior.

For treating others deceitfully and unkindly goes against the eternal Truth of Life itself. God is One, and His law requires unity. And so, our universal family must harmonize, sing forth together in the name of Love. This obeys God’s law and reveals powerful and natural blessings for one and all.

Daily Inspiration, January 23rd, 2020

“And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows within us. He is the Head of every kingdom and authority in the universe!” (Colossians 2: 10, the Passion Translation)

God’s wholeness is expressed in us. We were created as complete ideas, made up of all that is right and good and harmonious.

We may feel we are missing something in ourselves or in our lives. We may feel less than competent, productive, or strong. But we can rediscover our completeness, that satisfied and abundant state of being that God has given us. The Christ reveals this reality to us.

We can begin to think less about what we don’t have. We can shut down that voice that limits us and puts us down. We can instead awake to that spirit within us, that message from God that is telling us who we really are and what truly governs our lives. We can rest in that fullness that is not something we control, or that is in the hands of other men.

God’s eternal completeness is our identity, and this Truth governs us and all with supreme authority, unfailing generosity, and uncompromised integrity.
