“The blessing of the Eternal is what makes someone rich, and He doesn’t add pain to it.” (Proverbs 10: 22, the Voice Translation)

Our riches are divine blessings. This abundant goodness is just for us, and it comes from the Eternal, the everlasting, the perpetually present Source. This providence is not conditional, nor is it limited to a particular channel of receiving. The blessings of God, His prosperity, is as limitless as He is, and as loving.

The goodness that comes to us doesn’t include a downside, some painful experience or sacrifice of comfort, peace, or joy. These true riches, these qualities of God that are full of life, harmony, balance, guidance, protection, strength, are given to us freely and fully.

This treasure of God’s benediction, His assurances and kindness, is one which is generous and complete. We can accept this generosity and realize that it is meant for us, we are worthy of it, and we honor God by our unconditional acceptance of it.

God adds no pain to His goodness, His outpouring of grace, so we need not do that to ourselves. Let’s stop fearfully expecting our good to disappear or to require something of us beyond our ability. Let’s remember that we are affluent as we awake to what is already ours—the eternal blessing of being the children and heirs of Love!
