Daily Inspiration, November 27th

“Thanks be to God who leads us, wherever we are, on his own triumphant way and makes our knowledge of him spread throughout the world like a lovely perfume!” (II Corinthians 2: 14, JB Phillips New Testament)

Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s make this day one where we are consciously aware of God and the riches of Love that He has given us. Every day should be such a day of gratitude. You are blessed each day because of what God has made you to be. You are  a blessing each day because of what you consciously accept of that Truth and carry with you on your daily walk, a light shining by the abundance of God’s own light of Love.

Wherever we are, we are led by God on His triumphant way, as the quote says. It is because He is all-power, all-presence, all-consciousness, that God always wins, good always carries the day and necessarily takes us along on the victory march. We have every reason for gratitude and each moment we have an occasion to express it through our trust, our praise, our love for God and man.

God’s intention is to share the Truth of eternal Life with all creation. So, He has caused us to know Him and so to be the living witnesses to that good news. Let’s give thanks that we are the perfume that causes others to pause, to take in the beautiful aroma, and to feel with us that gratitude that is a genuine thanksgiving, a sincere awareness of the fact of God as Life and as Love.

Daily Inspiration, November 25th

“Every child of God can defeat the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory.” (I John 5: 4, Contemporary English Version)

You are a winner. Every child of God is able to achieve victory. Believe this. It is because you are that child of God, the beloved idea of perfect Life, that you have a power and a strong defense against the slings and arrows of the world.

Our faith in God and in ourselves is necessary. The limitations, fears, opposition, misunderstanding, and material obstacles the material world would present are not bigger than we are. Our army is not in numbers, but in Oneness. It is in that conscious awareness that we are children, always cared for and at one with our Father-Mother— infinite goodness and omnipotent Love—and that there is no other power or presence but God.

He has absolute and loving control over His family, the children of His design and the expressions of His own Life. We each can beat the foe and we do it by an understanding faith—the certainty that we are not alone, but necessarily and permanently united to infinite Love and perfect Truth.

The world’s accusations are nothing against the Christ-Truth, the loving awareness that God is All and that we are forever at One with this Almighty Love.

“Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique.” (Science and Health, page 475)

The structure of a physical body and the form in which it appears is not your identity. That limiting concept belittles God and the magnificent idea He created called man—you and me.

God is Mind and Spirit. His image is not physical, not built of material things. Man is the very idea of God’s Love expressed. The very substance of our being is divine Love, so it is limitless, deathless, painless, comfortable, strong, peaceful, harmonious. You are not what you look like any more than you are what you eat or what you put on your body.

Man is an idea; and he is not a human idea, but a thought of Love, God. You are a pure idea conceived by the divine Mind to express His vision, His intelligence, His infinitude, His beauty, Life, and Love.

You are not confined to a physical appearance or stuck in a material vessel. You are unconfined Life and Love. You are uniquely you because you are the expression of God’s precise and specific Love for you. This defines your being. His Love for you is each brushstroke in your portrait, and the result is a masterpiece—perfect, unfettered, colorful, lovely, inspired, and inspiring.

Daily Inspiration, November 18th

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” (Micah 7: 8)

The enemy, the problems, the challenges, the fears will not win the day. We do not surrender to the opposition against our peace. We have no intention of conceding defeat. Our God will not allow it.

When we fall, it will be an occasion to be lifted up. It will be an opportunity for God’s strength and righteousness to carry us up out of the pit of discouragement. By surrendering to God, and not to evil, we gain in understanding and perspective. We win the day by releasing a personal sense of control for the divine law, the supremacy and goodness of Spirit.

That darkness that envelopes us at times and makes us feel so far from inspiration, from hope, from joy, from a sense of love for ourselves and others, is not our final destination. It is, in fact, a silent vestibule for God’s own light to shine, to reach the thought that is humanly at a loss, with the wisdom and clarity that only the divine can bring. We are never alone in the dark. There is always God there, the constant light of Love which brightens, warms, and saves.

The “enemy” is not a legitimate threat. It will never beat us. With God we will rise, shine, and win!

Daily Inspiration, November 13th

“I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord.” (Jeremiah 15: 20)

God’s presence never leaves us and His action is always that which saves us. God’s purpose is to see His own perfect Life and Love expressed. We are the evidence and celebration of the fact of God’s living goodness.

And we are always at one with Him, so God’s powerful tenderness is always right where we are, to save us, to rescue us from the wrong ideas, fears, and limits and to deliver us to our true home, our real state of knowing and being. This verse is not some cry out to God, a desperate reach for hope and escape from trouble. It is God’s own promise and guarantee vitally announced. It is Truth expressing its intention for us.

“I am with thee” says the Lord Himself, “and I am here to assure that you are kept safe, freed from the gloom and doom of mortal life. I am here to awake you out of the mesmerism of believing that you are alone, separate from divine Life and Love, and subject to material problems and mistakes and confusion. I am with you to make sure you make it safely home to Me, to the reality of your forever Oneness with perfect Life, infinite Truth, and the Love that unfailingly and right now loves you.”

Daily Inspiration, November 11th

“…the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” (Psalms 2: 7)

Today is a new day, and you are new in it. God is today bringing you into being, conceiving you in His perfect and loving Mind, and sharing your beautiful being with the world.

Let God name you anew each day. Let Him remind you of who you are and why you are His beloved. God has called you son and daughter. He has loved you into Life and His creation is ever-appearing, so you are always being newly revealed in this day, in this moment, fresh and free and ready for Life.

We have been begotten in this day. Our identity is being announced; we are being baptized; we are emerging in this new hour as the expressed idea of God, the very offspring of His Love. Today is your birthday, for each day you are made new and christened with God’s kiss of approval. Each day your Father-Mother says to you, “This is my son; this is my daughter; this is my ideal, and my loved one. He is my image. She is just like me. I have blessed this precious little one with my name, my nature, and my Life.”

Daily Inspiration, November 6th

“My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.” (Psalms 119: 25)

We’ve all had those days and even those years. We’ve had those times when our identity felt absolutely attached to darkness, to sin, to limits, to sickness, to fears. We have felt we can’t get up out of the dirt, simply can’t lift ourselves from our doubts, discouragement, fear, and the shame for those feelings.

Our solution at those times is not in self-will. We don’t have the personal energy for that! The answer is in God’s will. It is in turning to our loving Father-Mother-Life and letting that infinite power “quicken” us—stimulate, revive, and breathe new life into us. God’s Word is an energizing force. He tells us the Truth of our real being, one that is not limited and mortal, nor a believer in such lies.

Leave that gloom in the dust and let yourself be washed clean by God’s daily grace. Turn to divine Life as the Psalmist did. Know that nothing about the dust is more compelling or powerful than the sunlight of Life and the fresh air of Soul’s new promises for each day. You are not stuck in mortal circumstances, earthbound and frightened. You are newborn in God’s Word about you today, ready to leave the old fears and old thinking in the dust and to take flight, with the currents of Love beneath your grateful wings.

Daily Inspiration, November 4th

“…ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls.” (Luke 21: 17-19)

Stay faithful. Don’t lose patience or hope. You are safe in the midst of the enemy—that thought or intention that would oppose the highest sense of good, of God as Life and Love. Don’t give up and don’t be afraid.

Patience is your friend. It is agreeing to accept that natural trust you have for good, for the Truth, and remaining peaceful, confident. Even if there seems to be a resistance to what you are doing, an ignorance or hatred for your cause and for your pure intentions, you are supported and protected. The rightness of your heart is backed by the infinite power of Truth and Love.

Remaining patient doesn’t mean remaining passive and just suffering through. What it does mean is that we continually look to God anew each day for assurance, direction, inspiration. In this way, not only are we kept safe, but we progress, we prosper.  We not only endure, but we overcome and gain the real treasure. Each seeming attack against us and our good work is a stepping stone to a greater understanding and a deeper faith—the very things that give us dominion, peace, and a true victory that brings resolution and healing even to our persecuters.

Daily Inspiration, October 30th

“The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable.” (Science and Health, page 192)

If we want to be powerful, we have to be good. We can’t find strength and might and success when we are not embodying, fully embracing and exemplifying goodness. Evil is not power because it has no God in it, no Life in it, no Truth to it. It may appear to have presence and strength, but it is based on nothing real or substantial.

In proportion to your individual expression of good are you empowered. As we rid ourselves of those actions and qualities that don’t find a place in God—Who is omnipotent—we discover just that much more power, the very capacity that can continue to put evil in its place and cause us to win.

A you that is good and doing good is not foreign or to you. It is not some ideal that is out of your reach, or that comes and goes. God made you good. He created you so that what feels most right and real to you is goodness. Accept this potent Truth of your own being and don’t argue against yourself, against God and what He caused. Realize that you are good, and that you love being good, seeing good, doing good. Recognize that anything that doesn’t express God, His rightness and love, isn’t appealing or natural to you at all.

Be yourself. Be good. Win the day and bless the world while you are at it!

Daily Inspiration, October 28th

“And [God] said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” (Exodus 3: 5)

Do you realize where you are? Have you recognized the significance of this moment, this place, this sacred space in your life? Moses wasn’t the only one to stand on holy ground, in the presence of God’s mission and His promise.

You and I have a significant purpose to fulfill and to do so we may need to get a better sense of reverence about it. This doesn’t mean our calling is one which is daunting or fearful. What it does mean is that we must enter into each moment with a proper awe that God Himself is there, that His glorious goodness has prepared that moment for us and has readied us to walk forward into it.

We leave our shoes behind. We put off our material trappings, our limitations, our burdens, our disbelief, our excuses, and step into Life with purity and innocence. The holy ground is one that requires your humility, your most genuine self, your willingness, and your grateful awareness of God and His powerful goodness.

Know where you are and treat your life and your unique purpose with due respect. The place where you stand is holy because God is there, and because you are the glorious and perfect evidence of that fact!
