“Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].” (Psalms 91: 14, Amplified Bible)

God will never abandon us. We can’t be separate from His presence, from the infinite Love and Life that embraces us and the universe.

We can realize and experience this great protection and affection as we know God’s name. This means knowing His true nature. We accept and we adore God for Who He truly is, as He calls Himself: The Great I AM; Spirit; Life; Love; Truth; divine Mind.

This right awareness of God’s Being; the conscious recognition of His glorious and ever-present qualities, gives us an individual sense of peace, joy, and power. We can trust confidently, as the psalmist did, because we know in this magnificent kindness, goodness, wisdom, presence, we are safe and secure, beloved and watched over. He knows our names as well.

Our Mother-Father is worthy of our love and our devotion, for She is perfect Love and this Love will never abandon us. No, never!

“Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” (Matthew 6: 26-27, New Living Translation)

Stop that worrying! Look about you. See how life is cared for, not by striving and fretting, but by simple trust and humble yielding to the law of God.

We may think this kind of logic is for the birds! But, truly, there is a divine law governing us just as it cares for the innocent animals. There is a natural provision for us shown forth in guidance, inspiration, and an abundant supply of just what is needful. As we lift the blinders of fear and doubt, we begin to see this loving care undergirding and infusing our lives.

You are valuable to God. He loves every idea that He saw fit to make. You are at one with all He created, a harmonious aspect of His universe, and so you must be maintained, sustained, and fulfill His glorious purpose.

Life is belittled by worry. We box it into time and pressure and lose Life’s grandeur. If you want to experience a more expansive life, do as the birds do. Trust and live! Listen with your heart and receive what God is already giving you. Stay receptive moment-by-moment. Don’t plan for trouble. Rest in the ability of God to advise, instruct, alert, and provide you with all the nourishment, wisdom, health, joy, and understanding that you need, one day at a time. Naturally!

“We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan.” (Romans 8: 28, the Voice Translation)

Let’s claim this confidence. God has a plan and it is not only a good one, it is the perfect one for you. He is precise, meticulous in every detail, and His intention comes with Love and because of Love.

Our job is not to manipulate life to suit us or our own sense of what is the best. It is to yield. It is to willingly get into step with God’s ideal design by our own love of Him and trust in His goodness, capacity, and harmony. Our certainty comes because we know that God’s divine purpose is the one which is right and satisfying for us and naturally brings light to the world as well.

We can eagerly accept this invitation to live according to His intention. This means to live lovingly, beyond opinion and limit. It is to live gratefully in the glow of this moment,  and to trust the promise of the next moment to reveal more Life, more beauty, and more Love for us and for all!

“Man is not God, but like a ray of light which comes from the sun, man, the outcome of God, reflects God.” (Science and Health, page 250)

There is only one God. We can’t claim the place of God as Creator, as the Infinite Spirit which governs all. And yet, our nature and stature are truly glorious.

For we are not the sun, but we are a wondrous ray of the boundless Source of power and of Life and of Love that is God. We reflect God’s qualities, express them in and to the world, as the very essence of His grandeur and goodness.

An outcome is defined as a final product or end result. So, we are the conclusive evidence and masterpiece which God has created, and which shows forth His ideal. We are also the very consequence of God’s Life, His progeny, the child of Her Love.

An outcome is also a conclusion reached through a process of logical thinking. So, not only are we the beautiful glow of God’s joy, we are also the right and wise end result of a Mind that is clear and certain. We are well-conceived. We are what God truly wanted to have known. We fit His plan and He is well-pleased with His magnificent beams of light—you and me!

“The Spirit is the one who gives life! Human strength can do nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are from that life-giving Spirit.” (John 6: 63, Contemporary English Version)

Don’t we often believe that our lives are tied up in the body and our physical abilities? Likewise, we may think that our capacity to achieve and prosper means we must have guts, grit, and boldness.

But this passage reminds us that our energy, impetus, vitality, ability, is not in the personal or the material. It doesn’t come from ego or will. God, the Spirit, the infinite Creator, is the Life-giver, and His divine power knows no limits and is always new, fresh, strong, and timely.

Let’s rely on the true Source and know what this means. Let’s give up the false sense that our lives are governed by human power or lack thereof. We have a divine might that transcends what we may seem able to accomplish individually. The Spirit is truly our very Life, and it is self-sustaining, healing, and uplifting. This loving Spirit provides us with all that we need not only to survive but to thrive.

“The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wrap-around presence will strengthen us.” (Psalms 33: 20, The Passion Translation)

What wonderful and powerful images! We can trust God with the fullness of our hearts, open and honest and receptive to His Love. God’s goodness is not merely some slim hope, a dim light of possibility. He is radiant, bright with rays of brilliant light, expansive, far reaching, warming, and guiding.

This all-knowing, all-loving Father-Mother is reliable. He sees where we are, who we are, and His energy and Life are with us and for us. We can relax and yield to this tender power and know we are safe as well as progressing.

God’s omnipresence means we are indeed always wrapped in His Love. We are embraced in His Spirit, and this is comfort and it is strength. God is where we are with His wisdom, His provision, His inspiration. God’s arms are about us, hugging us with all of His amazing qualities, and whispering His Love in every precious moment.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your being, and all your strength. These words that I am commanding you today must always be on your minds.” (Deuteronomy 6: 5-6, Common English Bible)

This commandment requires us to be all-in! We can’t pussy foot our way into experiencing the Truth of Life that God promises us.

This divine demand is not some decree from an egotistical ruler that seeks personal worship. It is God’s own guiding word on what will bring us into line with His purpose, His grace, His Life—the one which He made just for us.

Our job is to do what is healing and natural. It is to love. It is to love from the heart. It is to love with our lives. It is to love with powerful commitment and energy. This love for God, is a love for good. It is a love for Love itself. It is a love for Truth and beauty and inspiration. It is loving all that God, Love, is and does.

As we hear this call to love and heed it, consciously, each day, we find ourselves in unity with God’s gracious law, and harmonizing with others as well. Our loving God has made this commandment and enforces it, so it is one that is saving, healing, and freeing for us to gratefully and eagerly obey!

“And that’s about it, friends. Be cheerful. Keep things in good repair. Keep your spirits up. Think in harmony. Be agreeable. Do all that, and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure.” (II Corinthians 13: 11, Message Bible)

Paul wrapped up his message to the Corinthians, his friends, with these wonderful instructions. These thoughts are indeed a recipe for success and satisfaction.

Being cheerful is so vital. Of course, he’s not talking about being falsely chipper, but about finding within us, as much as we can, that natural place of joy and positivity. It really comes down to the idea of giving. When we think of those around us instead of focusing too much on self, then it is simply a kindness to be upbeat.

Paul also recommends that we sustain good relations with others. We want to keep a watchful eye that we don’t neglect what needs attending. We can stay hopeful, knowing that God is guiding, that progress is His law, and be ready for blessings. And we can honor God by living harmoniously with others, being open and receptive, and allowing the higher ideal to emerge that settles and blesses one and all.

All this thinking and behavior is not a stretch. It’s natural for us as reflections of God. And by being ourselves, awake and aware, we do feel that ever-present love and peace with us for sure.

“Israel, out looking for a place to rest, met God out looking for them! God told them, ‘I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!’” (Jeremiah 31: 2-3, Message Bible)

The wandering souls of old and those of us today seeking rest, resolution, peace, are not lost. Our God is at hand, right where we are, coming to us with Truth, with direction, with His Word of freedom. He is looking for us as the verse tells us. God’s people, the ideas of His heart and His creating, are always in His care. And He has never forgotten a single one of us.

We may feel we are unloved or unnoticed, neglected or even hiding away, but the love of divine Love is always seeking us out, always there for us to receive. It always has been. Our fears and the world’s presentations may turn us from the Truth of God’s ever-active presence, but it has always remained. And His Love isn’t apart from us, waiting for us to prove ourselves. It comes to us, meets us as we seek, and draws us in.

We can open our hearts and our eyes and our spirits to God’s saving grace. We can recognize that even as we wander, we can expect to bump into love, love and more love!

“Even if a man should be detected in some sin, my brothers, the spiritual ones among you should quietly set him back on the right path, not with any feeling of superiority but being yourselves on guard against temptation.” (Galatians 6: 1, JB Phillips New Testament)

Humility and compassion go hand in hand. We can help our brothers and sisters escape the wrong turns that lead to despair and darkness and guide them lovingly onto a path that is safe and right and truly satisfying.

Alertness is key. But the inspiration of Love is even more important. As we are receptive to God’s guidance for us, His purpose, we are aligned with what works well for us as well as what can be helpful to others. This is not about judgment or our own human opinions about another’s behavior. It is about heeding God’s call to share His light as we are led, and to let those who may seem to stray, know that there is a better way.

I like that this verse reminds us to both “quietly” and without a sense of “superiority” aid our fellow man. There should be a sweetness, respect, understanding about what we do. We retain our own humility, our awe of God’s presence and love for all of us. We keep ourselves awake to temptation—including that temptation to the sin of self-righteousness.

Let’s be kind and compassionate. Let’s be ready not to judge, but to love.
