“The people I formed for Myself, that they may set forth My praise [and they shall do it.]” (Isaiah 43: 21, Amplified Bible)

We are God’s people. We were formed out of His intention and to accurately express His own beauty, perfection, harmony, and grandeur. God made His people for Himself, in order that He be seen in every place, and so that He would have a wonderful reason for and a worthy object of His boundless, perfect Love.

What is our purpose? To be what God’s Love caused us to be; to show forth His glory as we walk in this world, bringing His own Spirit to life in all that we think and express, in our very being. Not only is it right to praise God, the Source and substance of us, but it is an imperative demand. God requires that we shall do it! No ifs, ands, or buts!

Let’s know our own dignity, our own well-being, and our own splendor. God made us to radiate forth His own perfect Self, His eternal and magnificent qualities. You can’t fail to do this, just as God can’t ever stop being the infinite All-in-all. God’s glory is in this very place and you are, right now and always, the evidence of that amazing fact! Be that glory now. Just do it!

“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” (Psalms 73: 25-26)

We always have a ready companion, a steady hand to guide us and keep us upright, and a constant Source of loving care. We may lose hope and strength when we look at our material circumstances. We may feel we are alone and that we are enduring hardships that seem overwhelming.

But this sense of lack is already filled with God’s presence. He is with us with His conscious wisdom in our day and with His love in our night. The physical senses may taunt us with limitations and fears, but our all-seeing and tender Father-Mother has the true story and holds us securely there. It is a love story and we are in it with God, with the One true Love that always sufficiently loves us.

Turn away from complaint and doubt and pity and see the fact of your salvation already at hand. God and His goodness are infinite. They are active and powerful. You are never separate from that loving-kindness, that boundless provision, and that focused attention and affection. God is your reliable reliance. He has your hand, your heart, and your life and it is absolutely safe, complete, and so very good.

Daily Inspiration, March 11th

“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3: 22-23)

Each day may bring us a new set of challenges to confront and to overcome. It may seem like a never-ending climb up and then a quick slide back down. Material life would seem to have a way of presenting new limits and obstructions to our freedom each day.

But we don’t have to be consumed by discouragement or fear. We have a reliable solution forever available. God’s mercies don’t have an expiration date. Yesterday’s healing and new understanding does not use up His Love or His patience. Just as God is new and fresh and full for every day, so is the measure of His Love for us. The ignorance and confusion we may feel today is simply a ready position to feel the influx of God’s cleansing kindness along with new revelations to get us back up and moving forward.

God’s compassion endures. He is Love itself and He is also Truth. His compassion is not based on pity for our sad state of affairs or sins, but it comes of His full awareness of why we are indeed lovable, good, worthy. God is faithful in His knowledge of the real man and woman that you are. He is the Father and Mother that knows you better than you know yourself and is well pleased with you.

Don’t let the morning fill you with dread or worry. Open yourself up to the new dawn of God’s Love, those merciful and beautiful rays of light and life that must wake us up to the promise of a wonderful, fruitful, and grateful day!

Daily Inspiration, March 6th

“…ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.” (I Thessalonians 5: 4-5)

We are made to shine forth and blend harmoniously with God’s beautiful day. Everything about us is built to radiate goodness and light in the world. Identify yourself rightly, as the children of light you are. Don’t let the allure of self-doubt, self-judgment, anger, and fear cause you to believe you are more welcome in the darkness than in the light, more comfortable there.

Get uncomfortable quickly with that shadowed sense of life. It doesn’t dignify you or the Almighty God Who made you. It’s a creeping lie and it will keep you buried in a sense of gloom and doom when fruitful freedom is beckoning you out to play. Not only are you worthy of coming out of belittlement and cynicism and fear, you must come out! The world is being deprived of a precious thing without your light to shine in it. Truly.

Let’s stop justifying our reasons to hide, to sleep, to give up. There is no reason valid enough or large enough to conquer your true brightness, God’s own light and Life expressed as the eternal flame that is you. Don’t hide away like a thief. Don’t let the evil sense of material life rob you of your true goodness, enthusiasm, and peace.

We are children of light. We know the Truth and power of Love. We are mighty to bless and to be blessed!

“The changing glow and full effulgence of God’s infinite ideas, images, mark the periods of progress.” (Science and Health, page 511)

Are you afraid of change? Are you predicting what’s ahead and bracing for what’s next? Are you analyzing the reason why certain things have lost their appeal or place in your life? You can still that ruminating, questioning mind with this guarantee of your natural progress.

God’s infinite ideas, you and me and our magnificent lives, will always sustain their full effulgence—their brilliant radiance and shining forth. The change that may appear is simply the glow from a different perspective, the altered view through a new prism of experience and inspiration and growth in understanding. We needn’t be concerned about this changing glow in our lives. The light source has not changed. It is still and always God, infinite Love.

Our periods of progress are a good thing. The shift out of one thing and into another isn’t a move out into the wilderness, but the natural next step into new light, new enlightenment, an expanded sense of Life and our expression of it.

Think less about your life as a series of circumstances and more as a varied and colorful tapestry of new images to see and enjoy. Our progress is governed by God, so it is natural, necessary, and comes both out of righteousness (the right thing at the right time) and out of Love (what will satisfy, bless, and comfort us and others).

Daily Inspiration, February 27th

“From one forefather he has created every race of men to live over the face of the whole earth. He has determined the times of their existence and the limits of their habitation, so that they might search for God, in the hope that they might feel for him and find him—yes, even though he is not far from any one of us.” (Acts 17: 26-27, JB Phillips New Testament)

We are one big universal family in which there are no favored children and no black sheep. Each idea of the One Father-Mother is cared for uniquely and perfectly, his life designed to meet God’s high standards and to glorify His own name which is Love. We have each been formed to fit into our perfect life–one with a specific purpose and plan, and whose only “limits” are those which assure that we never lose our way, never stray from the path of good, God.

The whole earth expresses God’s nature, His infinite Love and beauty and creativity. We are always being called to seek Him, to strive to know divine Love and immortal Life better. Everything is leading us to this conscious recognition of God’s presence and our unity with Him and so with all mankind.

The search for God is not one beyond any one of us. His Love is already and always actively with us in every place and at all times. He is near to each one of us, knows us truly, clearly, and dearly, and is each moment drawing us in to Himself, into a knowledge that we are dwelling in His grace and so is the whole world—all our sisters and brothers across this beautiful, heavenly earth.

Daily Inspiration, February 25th

“As a drop of water is one with the ocean, a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being.” (Science and Health, page 361)

An idea cannot be separated from the mind that knows it. It is naturally within that consciousness and caused by it, formed of that mind’s own quality and at one with its purpose. Our divine Mind, God, has each of us in His perfect and purposeful thoughts, forever one with Him and His divine intention—Life and Love.

We are more than simply close to God. We are like a drop of water in the ocean that is His infinite being. We are not lost there, but are forever and now at one with the whole sea of His goodness and formed out of the very substance that is His own nature–Spirit, divine Life, perfection, peace, power, serenity, poise, purity. We have an intimate and immediate relationship with infinite Love.

We are one in being with God, the very expression of His nature and quality and potency. We are the very radiance that declares His light; never separate from this sun but distinctly shining, with purpose, with integrity, both the object and expression of the great Life-giving, Life- maintaining Truth of creation. We are each individually and collectively the natural emanation of goodness, of energy, of vitality.

As we glow and flow we are never for an instant separate from the boundless Source, our perpetual Provider, that infinite Life which never fails to sufficiently, efficiently, perpetually hold us and love us.

Daily Inspiration, February 20th

“…There are times when I should pray with my spirit, and times when I should pray with my mind. Sometimes I should sing with my spirit, and at other times I should sing with my mind.” (I Corinthians 14: 15, Contemporary English Version)

There is no formula for prayer. The only stipulation is that we do it! The way in which we find our peace, honor and acknowledge and worship God, and glean healing inspiration, takes on different forms. And the wonderful thing is we know exactly when to do what and how to carry it out. Yes, we do! Why? Because the voice of God Himself leads us to Him, directs us in how best to celebrate His presence and claim the benefits.

We will find at times that we are led to argue for our innocence, our joy, our freedom. We feel compelled to seek out mentally, through conscious listening and receptivity, the word of Truth which would reveal God, good, in this moment for us and for others. We feel that there is a human ignorance that just must be filled with divine intelligence, God’s honest and energizing Word about our lives. This impulse to understand guides our prayer.

At other times, it is our heart that leads us. It may be an inner call to gratitude and praise, to a singing forth of God through the light of our lives and the eloquence of our poetic souls. It may seem at these times that the human mind, in fact, must stay out of the question altogether; that it must be still and simply receive and feel the loving goodness that God is constantly bestowing. Thus we sing with our spirits, without needing to know every detail of why we sing or how we do it, but only to let ourselves be at one with His song.

Whether we pray with mind (through honest seeking of Truth) or with our spirit (through a release of thinking to God’s presence), we can know that this activity is right and good because omnipotent Love has guided us to this perfect song and guarantees that it will be glorious, in tune, harmonious, beautiful, powerful, and healing!

Daily Inspiration, February 18th

“And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 10: 7)

Our lives should be publishing the good news. As we come to know that the kingdom of heaven–God’s own harmonious state of being–is ours here and now, we must not keep that truth to ourselves. Nor should we think of this statement by Jesus as one that is merely theoretical, one we may love thinking of and wishing for, but which we leave out of our daily lives.

As ye go. As you walk forward through your days, consciously awaken to this Truth as the very substance of life, your life, and therefore everyone else’s as well. Declare this heavenly presence by your love of it, by living in acknowledgment that the good Life is here and it has nothing to do with an afterlife, a heaven set apart from our human grasp and from our capacity to understand.

I don’t think Jesus wanted our preaching to be, well, preachy! What I think he meant was that we feel and know this kingdom of heaven, claim it moment by moment, and that we not allow the earthly, limiting beliefs to keep us from sharing our understanding, our joy. By doing so, we share the precious Truth of God right here and now; we declare and express the glory of that loving kingdom in which we always and already dwell.

Daily Inspiration, February 14th

“Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals.” (Science and Health, page 13)

Divine Love has got you covered, encircled, provided for, nurtured, understood. This Love does not desert you, elude you, deny you the best, or require you to be anything more than who you are. You are dearly, sincerely, clearly loved by God, divine Love, and this is a forever fact for you and for all.

Let’s not narrow our sense of love and so miss its fullness. Love is impartial. It doesn’t play favorites. It is that infinite idea that is always right where we are, within us, around us, and always for us. This Love may instruct us out of our fears and false beliefs, but it does not punish us or leave us without understanding or comfort. Our True Love is true, faithful, and expressive.

Love is universal. It reaches the bounds of the earth and encompasses it. Each idea within its embrace is tenderly cared for, individually adored, conscientiously seen and guided. Divine Love does not give without specificity. Its adaptations are built for each of us, to show us just why we are special and just what is right for our real happiness. This love bestows more than candy, flowers, and kisses. Divine Love bestows peace, lasting joy, thorough comfort, and a life that only wants to reflect that love all around.

Rejoice in Love every day, for this perfect Love is with you every day, as the One Who loved you first, always, forever, today!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
