Daily Inspiration, January 8th

“…thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.” (Isaiah 30: 19)

The tears of fear, pain, resentment, doubt, sadness can’t continue. Our God comes with His Love to comfort in this moment and bring shiny promises for the next moment. You are not alone or without help. You are deeply cared for and cared about.

Turn that sweet face to your Father-Mother-Love. Give up the weary personal wrestling for human understanding and compensation and validation and peace. Let yourself enter into the hug of God, and remain there for the healing, the cleansing, the true awareness of what is yours to have and enjoy today, now, here.

Your voice is heard by the Almighty. His comfort is more than commiseration or hand-holding. It is the strong and certain and saving presence of all the Love there is, right where you are, gathering you in for an embrace, an assurance that will never leave you and will never think less of you for your asking, for your sighing release to His Love.

God is gracious. His answer is Love and it is also Life—a Life that is greater than the weeping and the worry and ready to reveal surprises that delight and peace that is rightfully, naturally yours.

Daily Inspiration, January 6th

“Life is divine Mind. Life is not limited.” (Science and Health, page 469)

Don’t accept any limits on your life. Stop rationalizing all the reasons why you can’t, aren’t, shouldn’t, couldn’t, and awake to this one great fact: Life is divine Mind, the creative, expansive thought of God. It is not constituted of material details or confined to the seeming limits and losses of human circumstances.

Life is God’s thought revealed and expressed. Is there anything about God’s thought that can be small or lacking in power, authority, ability? Can an infinite Mind know limitation? Realize the Life you have and yield to its limitless unfolding. God’s thinking is vast and also entirely good. Its vistas are beyond human comprehension, but Love brings them to human realization.

So, let’s ready ourselves to see the wider panorama, the infinite possibilities of our lives. Let the sense of limit fall away as you lift your thought above them, up to the higher and more spiritual perspective. What does God see, know, think? Is His concept of Being confined or stuck or painful or dark or depleted? Is it small and scared? Does His thought have any finiteness? No, He is infinite Mind and His thought is Life—your joyous, loving, perfect, exciting, inviting, limitless Life!

Daily Inspiration, January 1st

“Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and ‘all things are become new.’ Passions, selfishness, false appetites, hatred, fear, all sensuality, yield to spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the side of God, good.” (Science and Health, page 201)

Happy New Year! Joyfully awake to a renewed idea of yourself, one that is fresh and free. This is your identity, more true and real and right than any old and less glorious view of yourself.

God, good, prepared this day for you and placed you squarely in the middle of it. He knew that you would magnify Him magnificently. Spirit, God, is always actively working to clear away the mist of mistaken concepts and to show us our best selves, our true nature of unadulterated goodness, innocence, and love. God is forever reminding us that we are His own children.

Let God reveal the beauty of you this year. Let this day be a new beginning; not one in which you remake yourself, but one in which you yield to God’s hands, peeling away naturally and necessarily the layers of lies that are hiding your glory. Those fears, resentments, addictions, compulsions, agreed-to and accepted flaws of character and of body, are flimsy nothing when confronted with God’s superabundance—His purpose to make all things look like Him, therefore perfect, fresh, and ready for a terrific, productive, and happy new year!

Daily Inspiration, December 30th

“Serve one another with the particular gifts God has given each of you, as faithful dispensers of the magnificently varied grace of God.” (I Peter 4: 10)

You have many gifts. These talents and skills and qualities are unique and uniquely yours. No one has exactly what you have to give and no one can share them in exactly the manner that you can.

Our special gifts aren’t meant to be hidden or hoarded. They are also not to be diminished. These special abilities and qualities of thought and character that we have are incomparable and worthy of our cherishing. They are of God. Because of His “varied grace,”—the multitude of ways in which He loves us—we are blessed with particular gifts.

You have a holy purpose and all that is needed to carry it out. You have been equipped to serve one another, to honor your wonderful self that God made, by letting go of it. We thank God for our blessings by giving to others and giving the glory to Him.

You have special treasures to share. Nurture and respect them. Be willing to discover and put into practice new ones. Giving of these will never deplete you of them. Serving one another with the abilities with which you have been endowed by God Himself can’t leave you weary or exposed to hurt. Know that the loving Source of those qualities is leading you in utilizing them, helping others in doing so, pleasing Him, and proving the infinite scope and variety of God’s gracious, wonderful Love.

Daily Inspiration, December 25th

“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1: 23)

The birth of Jesus signified more than a spiritually-minded leader come into the world. The virgin-birth, that pure conception of God’s Love for man, brought to light for all time the presence of God with us, and His loving intention for us.

This prophetic message of Emmanuel predated Jesus’s blessed birth. It was the message of the Holy Comforter—that Spirit of goodness and love already and always provided for man to realize and to cherish. Christmas signifies not only that a child was born who would most demonstrate the qualities of the Christ in his human life. It is truly a reminder that God Himself is with us, always, and that makes every day a holiday, a holy day, and one in which we are both a blessing and the blessed.

Celebrate Christmas with the grateful knowledge that you are never alone, never lacking in love or in peace or in joy. God, divine Love, is with us. The revelation of His son and Jesus’s deathless goodness is the Christmas gift of Truth for us all. God is in the here and now, with all His power and Love, just like on that blessed day, and you are the very child that He loves—today and every day!

Merry Christmas!

Daily Inspiration, December 23rd

“Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.” (Job 36: 24-25)

You have an important function. You have been created and equipped to spread the news. You are bound by the covenant of Love, your oneness with God, to express the qualities of His creation and to demonstrate what that means for mankind.

Remember this. You are the sign of God’s handiwork. You are the very radiance that shines forth from His pure source of light. You have the power and the love in you that makes you the perfect representative of God’s goodness.

And this means you get to celebrate. In fact, your mission is to magnify—to praise and glorify—His work for all, in a way that is so splendid it can be witnessed near and far. This requires your devotion, your focus, and your joyful gratitude! It is a call to song and dance without apology or justification. God has granted us supreme license to be glad in the fact of His presence and love, and to show our thanks by expressing His beauty, salvation, freedom, and Life in every place and at all times!

Daily Inspiration, December 18th

“Nothing but the power of Truth can prevent the fear of error, and prove man’s dominion over error.” (Science and Health, page 380)

We can seek to feel in control by human will. We can try to be free of fear by putting on toughness. We can analyze ourselves and others and so hope to gain a better understanding of how to beat down the blues, the anxieties, the limits on our freedom and peace.

But these remedies can’t really set us free. Fear and other mistaken beliefs about life can only be fully prevented and conquered by a power beyond human efforts. It is by divine Truth alone that we can really know our dominion. For it is Truth, God, that gave us this supremacy, and this by reflection, not exertion.

The Truth that will prove our dominion is that fact of our divine nature as sons and daughters of God. The power that will reveal harmony and authority is the Truth that we are not in control, nor need to be. God, divine Love, is governing us and all creation. Our dominion over fear and error is found by letting go of control—by realizing with grateful joy that God has our Life, and He is pure goodness and Love, forever with us and for us.

Daily Inspiration, December 16th

“…stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.” (Job 37: 14)

Stay still. Just be. Stand in peaceful awareness of Life and its glories. Behold and cherish what is real and true and do it from a point of stability, of simple trust and spiritual observation.

God and His Truth and Love are right where you are. You don’t need to rush about mentally or physically seeking what you already have. Stand still. Let that gentle and powerful Christ come to you and show you what is real and really yours to enjoy and to share. Stillness can be your savior. Try it.

And know that you can do it. The calm state of thought that is ready to be blessed, inspired, illuminated, healed, is yours naturally. We do have the innate capacity to know God and so we are equipped with the ability to be still enough to feel thoroughly His presence and to hear easily His Word.

Stand still. God’s glorious activity upon you and for you is enough. Let Him do the acting, the inspiring, the healing, and stand in peaceful awe that you are in the perfect spot to witness and accept such powerful goodness and wondrous, saving Love.

Daily Inspiration, December 11th

“…thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.” (Psalms 18: 35)

God’s righteousness is our salvation. It is the hand of God, the strength and certainty and authority of Truth, which lifts us out of despair and darkness and into triumph and joy.

It is not human energy and willpower that holds us up. It is not the skin of our teeth, luck, or physical endurance that gets us through. Our life is in God’s hands, and the infinite Almighty can surely keep us upright and free us from the heaviness of material and limiting beliefs about our lives.

And this mighty hand of God is also pure Love. It is His gentle kindness, mercy, and loving touch that gives us true greatness. It is by our humble yielding of ego and human will to the Love of God and the healing presence of the Christ-Truth, that we feel true power, vitality, and dominion.

Our life is always safe in God. Our greatness is a guarantee, for we are the loved image and object of His gentle, righteous, powerful protection and affection.

Daily Inspiration, December 9th

“…take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life…”  (Luke 21: 34, Amplified Bible)

Be alert, but unalarmed. Don’t let the world’s presentations of trouble and gloom overwhelm you and depress you. Don’t let material temptations trick you into being more asleep to good, more deadened to the presence of Life at hand.

In these days it may seem easy to feel transfixed by horrors and injustice, sickness and the fear of it. It can feel at times impossible to remember why we believed in the power of God, good, and to feel burdened by our call to be healers, forces for good, and to bring joy and hope to our world, not to mention ourselves.

But Jesus knew what we might feel, for his times were the same—full of the allure of false gods and of a people torn, poor, and troubled. He knew that we might feel the pressure, and he told us to be on guard. In this same sermon Jesus promised us the kingdom of God and hand!

Why feel dragged down by matter and its falsity when Spirit, God, Truth is ours and is the solution to every appearance to the contrary? Our job is to realize that we have a higher calling and it is one that we are completely prepared to carry out or we would not have been called. We can wake up from the nightmare of human control and yield consciously and willingly to the divine, the control of Life that is pure goodness. This reliance is true power, and it gives us fearless freedom, expectation, and joy in being the sons and daughters of God that we truly are, and actively expressing that wonderful fact!
