Daily Inspiration, June 30th

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” (Psalms 34: 19)

It sure may seem that the good we do doesn’t get us anywhere. We may feel under-appreciated, misunderstood, and even accused. Calm down. Don’t let these “afflictions” cause you to take the very road that is making you miserable. Don’t turn from that righteousness and allow anger, resentment, discouragement to barge on into your pure consciousness and good intentions and make a mess.

God’s purpose may get resistance at times, but it doesn’t leave you high and dry. Your loyalty to God, to goodness and love, protects and saves you. God does deliver us out of all those rough challenges. It is not merely safety that we get, though. It is new understanding, an even greater strength and peace. His deliverance is also growth, enrichment, enlightenment, and an even deeper love and gratitude for God, good.

Don’t despair. Maintain your integrity with enough humility to know that it is not your righteousness that is being expressed, but God’s. All the good you do and aspire to do comes of God Himself. He is able to keep His purpose and you safe, energized, and fearless to continue in His wonderful, productive, blessed way.
