Daily Inspiration, December 20th

“This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.” (Isaiah 43: 15)

God made us for Him. He created us in order to shine forth His intention and His high quality. We were made with the express purpose of being the ideal representatives of all that divine Mind could conceive and divine Love adore. We were formed to be the fully accurate evidence of all that God eternally is.

And it is not about us. It is not about human beliefs of self and personality. We are not made perfect in order that we can be arrogant and self-righteous and puffed up with pride and judgment. We were made in order to show forth God’s praise, to be the active manifestation of God, good. Everything we are and do should direct thought and worship back to God, to the Principle that is divine Love and unadulterated Truth.

Let’s be clear about our origin and the reason for our lives. With God as the source, substance, and subject of all that we are, you and I are not left out. We are set free. It is because of God that we must always have that natural purity, innocence and beauty. It is because God is the great I AM, that we are released to His right activity, His perfect productivity, His certainty, His fearlessness. We are because He is, and we are satisfied because to praise Him is to live in goodness and in joy.

This is so helpful, the idea of “personality” and personal sense, and all of the baggage those traits weigh on us. To me that is the real beauty of young children, no pretense, no arrogance, an innocence that reflects their true origin as God’s reflections of purity. Thanks Laura.

The belief of self and personality is arguably a bigger challenge to mankind than the belief in matter. It is interesting to note that in “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures”, the allegory illustrating the process of metaphysical healing identifies “personal sense” as the main culprit to be defeated.

I totally agree, Colin! Thank you for the comment!
