“Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk and live in Your truth; direct and unite my heart [solely, reverently] to fear and honor Your name.” (Psalms 86: 11, Amplified Bible Classic Edition)

Let’s be eager for instruction. Let’s turn to God Himself to show us how to honor Him, love Him, and to be obedient to His good Life for us.

We aren’t alone and trying to figure out how to be better, wiser, stronger. We have God as our faithful guide, the teacher and leader that requires us to know and live the Truth. Our mighty and tender Father-Mother-God is at the ready not only to show us the way, but to give us that reverent heart and pure joy that makes His way natural and saving.

Take pleasure in surrendering that ego of yours, as the Psalmist did. Let yourself claim and cherish each opportunity to turn, with childlike trust, to God to show you who you truly are, and what that means for your life. Give up the need to be a knower and a doer, and let yourself be gratefully taught and led by God in His right time and way.

This release unites our hearts to the very Love that is always true and faithful, that will be with us in each step, and take us all the way.

“ANGELS. God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality.” (Science and Health, page 581)

Let those angels on in! They truly are at the ready to be received, for God’s thoughts for us are always active; His Mind is ever conscious, present, powerful.

Listen and heed those divine messages. These spiritual intuitions come in many forms, but all have one thing in common. Their Source is God, good. So, these ideas and leadings come to save and to bless. They express God’s nature and His intention. They come to us to announce God’s presence and evil’s absence. They reveal Truth right where the lie might want to get our attention.

A host of mighty angels surrounds us. The perfect and precise ideas you need are close at hand. These angels can be felt, seen, heard, when we are open to them. We may not believe in literal white-winged visitants, but we can believe in and trust in God, in Life, in Truth, and Love. We can be assured that a God Who loves us as He does, will come to us and show us this love in ways that lead, guide, comfort, and uplift.

Welcome these holy messengers whether they come with a whisper, a nudge, a wake up call, or a song!

“The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal.” (Science and Health, page 70)

Every single idea of God is specially-made and precious to Him. The Creator’s rich imagination designed all manner of life and the boundless panorama of the universe. Every conception was and is important, significant, and intentional.

The Mother-Father of creation was pleased with Her offspring. This divine Mind holds within Itself the very cosmos, including each one of us—as brilliant and majestic as the stars in the sky. Material distinctions do not weigh into the measure of God’s Love or His attention to detail in conceiving, forming, and maintaining His ideas.

You are loved eternally and uniquely. God’s attention to you is focused and exact. He knows infinity intimately, and He loves you and all without interruption or distraction. We are seen clearly, known well, and sustained tenderly, completely, and permanently.

Daily Inspiration, April 3rd

“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed]…” (John 25: 4, Amplified Bible)

Jesus wanted us to know this very vital thing. He told his immediate disciples (and us today) that to hear the word that he taught and demonstrated, and to believe it, was to have eternal life.

This powerful message that Jesus revealed to mankind was the Truth of us all as sons and daughters of God, forever at one with His purpose and with His Love. This recognition of the Christ, the Truth that defies the limiting beliefs of man and of finite life, was the glorious reality Jesus proved in his own life and resurrection.

The Master wanted us to know that receiving this new vision of being and of our own relationship to God, was not merely an invitation to a far-away heaven. It was immediate transformation. Eternal life, heaven, starts at the point of receiving and believing. Jesus assured us of this fact, and he knew of what he spoke. The promise was not human but divine. It came directly from the God Who sent him, straight to you and me, to be known, accepted, and lived today!

Daily Inspiration, March 29th

“When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path.” (Science and Health, page 254)

Patience. It may seem a difficult quality to express for many of us, especially when we seek an answer, guidance, a solution or resolution.

But patience is vital, and it is something of which we are fully capable. The second requirement noted here brings it all together. As we seek Truth righteously—with a sense of honesty, wanting to know and do what is most right for us and all—we align ourselves with God’s intention and His direction comes naturally.

When patience seems like we are waiting for action, let’s remember that God’s activity is always going on. He is moving thought and ideas in just the right way, in His perfect timing, in order that His intention is fully realized. To be patient is not to be just tolerating sitting and doing nothing. It is to be gratefully releasing ourselves to witness God’s unfolding good. It is taking pleasure in trusting Him to show us what is needed, when it is needed.

This brings to light the direction we seek in its richest glory, finished and ready for our receiving and living. We don’t want our pursuit to be half-baked, rushed and impulsive. If we take out that cake before it is ready, it won’t be nearly as good, and putting the frosting on it will be especially difficult!

Wait on God and wait with God. He doesn’t leave us alone while He works out the details. He’s there each moment with ideas to keep us busy, hints to keep us expectant, and the joy to know that the Almighty is in charge and that He is Love.

Daily Inspiration, March 27th

“A few immortal sentences, breathing the omnipotence of divine justice, have been potent to break despotic fetters and abolish the whipping-post and slave market; but oppression neither went down in blood, nor did the breath of freedom come from the cannon’s mouth. Love is the liberator.” (Science and Health, page 225)

Epic changes have been made throughout history because of a few inspired words and ideas. This quote references the emancipation that was made law, setting free the slaves in America after the Civil War. And it truly speaks to the impulse and power behind that law.

Divine justice. It is that higher and true sense of law, the Principle that has the power to undo and overturn the unjust. God’s Word is never one of punishment, fear, or evil. His supreme ideal is a power beyond measure. And it is ours to utilize.

What breaks despotism and tyranny is Truth. And that Truth isn’t anger and blame and subjugation and fear and bloodshed. It is Love. Love comes with power, because it isn’t just a nice sentiment. It is the Almighty.

Let’s recognize the great ability we have through God’s law to denounce and reject anything that enslaves us or anyone else. We can listen for those immortal sentences, the inspired words and actions that we can take, backed by God, and discover and live a life that is rightful, lawful, legitimate, impactful, and freeing!

Daily Inspiration, March 22nd

“As for the rich in this present world, instruct them not to be conceited and arrogant, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” (I Timothy 6: 17, Amplified Bible)

Seeing wealth or seeking it as our solution, leads us astray. It keeps us from really knowing the sustaining and reliable goodness that comes from God. As we look to material riches and to our own human capacity to gain these, we leave out God and His loving and right provision. And so, we limit our treasures by looking to dollars and cents as our supply and our sustenance, not to mention our ultimate goal.

Abundance is spiritual. True prosperity is that which includes an enduring feeling of Love, of Life, of joy, as well as of security and freedom. God’s provision is rich in every needful thing for our use and for our pleasure, our contentment, our peace.

To have much and to feel our bank account makes us more special than another; to believe that we have heaven through accumulated matter, is to build on fallible and variable foundations. Rather, we gain the lasting and satisfying richness as we are humbly receptive to the glorious gifts of God and His boundless, forthcoming goodness. A heavenly certainty comes by realizing and accepting that our worthiness is not based in matter and its measures, but in God and His eternal Truth about one and all.

Daily Inspiration, March 20th

“…what does the Lord require of you except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), And to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?” (Micah 6: 8, Amplified Bible)

Justice, kindness, humility. These are God’s requirements for our living. He demands that we express these qualities. In doing so, we reflect His intention and we also feel and know the heaven of true obedience.

It may seem like we need to be perfect, in absolute control, brilliant and successful. We may feel that in order to receive the blessing of God and His good life, we must do high and mighty things and demonstrate human behavior that is flawless in every way. But, God only requires what is entirely natural to us, and yet so powerful. He calls us to be compassionate, to express the Love that He has put in our hearts, without reservation and without bias.

Likewise, God requires us to be just. This justice is not arbitrary and according to human opinion or to the laws of men. It is having a mind that is fair and honest, that has integrity. True justice is an expression of God’s Principle, so it resonates with what is loving, mutually blessing, and right. We can be just to others and to ourselves, showing regard for God’s children and their divine rights.

This honors God. And humility may be the key to these other requirements. For as we set aside a personal sense of self, an ego that is either big and arrogant or one that belittles self, we are free to reflect God’s pure light. Humbling ourselves releases us from the limits of the personal view and its self-righteousness or self-depreciation. This allows us to hear and follow God, to be the truly kind and just men and women that He made us to be, and that the world so needs.

Daily Inspiration, March 15th

“If I had the gift of prophecy and knew all about what is going to happen in the future, knew everything about everything, but didn’t love others, what good would it do? Even if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, I would still be worth nothing at all without love.” (I Corinthians 13: 2, The Living Bible)

This teaching is clear. Without love, all the superpowers we might have are truly worthless. Even having a firm faith and one that allows us to witness great things in the world, isn’t sufficient. Love is the one necessary thing, and its lack makes all the difference in the world and to the world.

One gets the sense that the writer has personal experience. This doesn’t feel like preachiness. There is an urgency about it, a real and deep perception. Prophecy and miracles were not unknown to him, but even these might omit the rich purpose and power that only Love can bring.

For Love is God and God’s Love is both perfect and universal. It must reach all and be expressed unconditionally. It isn’t human, but divine. It isn’t limited or personal, but it is the very nature of infinite God made known.

As we consciously know and express Love in all that we are and do, we honor God and our own oneness with Him. Then all things are possible to us, just like they were to Jesus. And these possibilities are replete with a healing and saving purpose and potency that only true Love can bring.

Daily Inspiration, March 13th

“Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.” (Philippians 4: 8, The Living Bible)

This is clear guidance on how to watch our thoughts. We surely must realize that how we think affects how we live. If we crowd our minds with troubles, anger, judgment, deception, impurity, we express these attitudes in the way we go about our days and how we interact with others.

This biblical counsel directs us back to God. Conscious praise and gratitude aligns our thinking with Truth, and this is power. Acknowledging and celebrating goodness, light, beauty, joy, kindness brings us into a Spirit of reality, and of harmony. These thoughts are the kingdom of heaven within us. They are health to our bodies as well as to our experiences.

Keep those thoughts fixed on the right and the true. Be willing to let go of those dark and doubting and negative images to make room for the influx of God’s ideas. This consciousness reveals a better life individually and it amplifies the good we can bring to the world as well.
