“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].” (Psalms 91: 1, Amplified Bible)

The 91st Psalm is so comforting and strengthening. It opens with such a beautiful and thorough promise for us.

We are given the assurance that God is sheltering us from trouble. He keeps us safe in the strength of His Love and He also keeps us with Him—on high, above the earthly swarm of beliefs and fears and limitations that the world would inundate us with.

God is Almighty and we are not separate from Him. We are at one with God’s Life and Truth. No threats out there or in our own thought can take us out from under His shadow, His presence guarding us and caring for us, like a mother for her most beloved child.

We don’t have to be personally powerful and perfectly prepared. We can rest securely in God’s omnipotence, goodness, and wisdom. His Allness means that evil doesn’t have a place to sneak in, to get at us and harm us or even disturb us.

Remember where you live. You permanently reside with God on His safe mountaintop, protected from danger and with the expansive view of Life that this vantage point reveals.
