“You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself…” (Leviticus 19: 34, English Standard Version)
Let’s make everyone feel that they belong. Let’s remember that if we are to be who God made us to be, Love is what we are and what we do. To be our true selves is to love one another.
And this can leave no one out. Just because someone may not look like us, perhaps have differing beliefs, or simply be a stranger in our midst, does not mean they are not worthy of our love. Nor does it mean that we can neglect the very interaction, connection, with that one that may truly bless us in meaningful ways.
God did not create us to be stingy or selective with His Love. There are no foreigners in His kingdom and no black sheep among His children. Let’s be true to God and His divine demand, His law that promotes harmony and peace among men and nations.
Let’s be kind and open with all whom we encounter, knowing them as the very children of God they are, just as we are. Let’s be ready to love God’s beloved. It’s what we were made to do. It’s a power that heals others and brings us joy and light and peace as well.
