“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” (Lamentation 3: 22-23, New Living Translation)

Each morning, we have a fresh opportunity to feel the healing grace of God’s mercy. God’s Love is not like any other. It is spiritual and infinite, powerful and wise, never mercurial or conditional.

God’s Love is faithful and we can willingly, with complete trust, receive this Love. His ever-presence, His timeless kindness, means that Love is always near and ready to save us from the belief that we are irredeemable, guilty, or shameful.

God’s mercy is not a one-time offering. While we surely want to progress out of bad thinking and behavior, we can always turn to God anew, with contrite hearts. We can let Him wash us clean with the Love that restores innocence while at the same time bestowing wisdom—insights that cause us to let go of the errors of yesterday, and to want to.

God’s mercy is not something we need to earn. Divine Love never stops bestowing it. All we must do is awake to this Love and be humble enough to accept it, to be showered with mercy, made ready for a brand new and beautiful day.
