“Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation.” (Science and Health, p. 332)

We are all the forever children of God. We are the offspring of His Love and the expression of His Life. We are the object of His tender care and affection, every day, always, right now.

Let’s really think about this fact. God is our Father and Mother. All creation is born of this one divine Parent, whose substance and purpose is all good. Our God is not a distant being or one who has a random or sporadic relationship with us. God is not ordering us around like a boss or a tyrannical ruler. God is not an enigmatic idea that we can’t feel or understand.

Jesus referred to God as his Father. We are reminded throughout the Scriptures that we are the children of God. Our relationship with God is one of a beloved child with their beloved and trustworthy parent.

A mother loves unconditionally. A father cares without hesitation. God, as the perfect Father-Mother, does even more than a human parent can—loves more deeply, sees us more clearly, protects us more fully, guides us more rightly.

Let’s eagerly accept this relationship and turn willingly and often to our Mother-Father to feel and receive Her Love, direction, and assurance every day, all the days of our life.
