“Acquaint now yourself with Him [agree with God and show yourself to be conformed to His will] and be at peace; by that [you shall prosper and great] good shall come to you.” (Job 22: 21, Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)
Peace and prosperity. These are surely desires we all have. Whether we are seeking success in our work or to be able to live our lives comfortably, at the heart of these aspirations is a wish for contentment, of satisfaction without fear.
We can find and feel this true sense of harmony and prosperousness by acquainting ourselves with the right things. If we keep our focus on the material possessions we might want to accumulate or the accolades or validation we want from others, we are likely missing out on the awareness that truly settles and saves us.
To feel more at peace, we must turn our focus to God, to good, to His qualities of Love and to His control over us and all. We must let go of human will and our own vision of what is right, what will work, what is best, and get better acquainted with God’s purpose.
For only as we agree with God—come into harmony with Him—do we discover the path for good in our lives. Agreeing with God means consenting to live as He caused us to live, realizing our true affluence through His treasures. It is finding our natural satisfaction by letting go of the limited self and sense and allowing God to lead us on His perfect way–one which blesses not only us, but all.
