“Christ’s love is greater than any person can ever know. But I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3: 19, International Children’s Bible)

Human love from others may seem like our ideal. We want to be cherished, protected, and understood. Human love is a beautiful expression of God’s love, but it can’t compare to the richness of the love of Christ—that love from God that truly sees us right where we are and reveals our oneness with the Source of Love.

This abundant, perfect Love, is uncontainable. It is infinite. Its essence is beyond mere words, and its power is beyond all limits of space and time. The human mind can’t really fathom the full definition and measure of this beautiful love, but we are blessed to be able to experience it. For this is the purpose of perfect Love. It simply must love.

And we can truly be filled with this Love as we are open to receive it. It often means letting go of the belief that other people are the source of love—they can give it, take it away, make it conditional, or mutate it. We must recognize that true love has its origin in God, and when we turn away from expecting love, admiration, a sense of well-being, from persons or even circumstances, we are humbly ready to be greatly blessed. And we begin then to more clearly perceive God’s love reflected in one another and in our world.

For this Christ-love—this divine Love revealed to mankind—is pure, brings peace, reassurance. It isn’t conditional or situational. This deep Love is ready to lift us up, show us what is possible, and also remind us that we are truly, in the purest sense, home.
