“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.” (Proverbs 3:5-6, The Passion Translation)
We have the most trustworthy guide, companion, mentor, and friend. We can turn to God in all times of need and be led to right decisions and a feeling of assurance as we move forward.
This verse reminds us to trust in the Lord completely. Completely. Not as an additional voice along with our own pros and cons, others’ opinions, or some data that we’ve collected based on material analysis or on past experiences. We must and can give our hearts to God and let Him reveal to us lovingly what is most right and good in this moment, and step by step, thought by thought, in the hours and days to come.
Let’s get used to giving up the personal sense of responsibility for all that we think we must know and do and be and instead lean more. Let’s know that God has our best interests at heart, along with those of everyone else, and He is able to see the whole picture, beyond our limited personal view.
God is Love. He is perfect wisdom. He is forever with us. He is ready to give us direction and also peace of mind about whatever we choose to do. Trust Him fully and feel the freedom and joy that reliance naturally brings.
