“God lives forever and is holy. He is high and lifted up. He says, ‘I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are sad and humble. I give new life to those who are humble and to those whose hearts are broken.’” (Isaiah 57: 15, New Century Version)
God is holy, spiritual, above the earthly perception of things. God is flawless, never makes mistakes, and is divine, infinite, without a single limitation or vulnerability.
We can seek to know this glorious Father-Mother Who is our Creator and the Giver of all life. We can strive to express fully His goodness and light in all that we are and do. We can do our best be upright in every way, to behave as the sons and daughters God lovingly made and continues to adore.
But we can also remember that God is not distant from us in times of crisis, distress, self-doubt, fear, and shame. God is very much with us in our days of insecurity, in those humble times when we don’t feel we can maintain the perfect human thoughts and actions.
God doesn’t desert us when we are confused or lost. God’s Love is active in these moments. God shows us what true love is by renewing us, providing fresh direction, teaching us how to be better, and releasing our heavy egos to the lightness of His care.
God is right where we are, whether we feel we have strayed or that we have been betrayed. He is everywhere, so He is right here, right now, lifting us up and revealing persistently, insistently, our right to a whole and holy life.
