“O Lord, you are my light! You make my darkness bright.” (II Samuel 22: 29, Living Bible)
We may be waiting for the sun to shine or for some good thing to brighten our experience. It may be that even those times that appear sunny to others seem dark to us. Our nights may feel long and full of fear and doubt and our days may seem less than promising.
But this sense of darkness is not fixed, solid, immovable. It is not ours to keep or to linger with for a time. The light is at hand and this light is more than a material glimmer or ray of the sun. The light of God, Spirit, is infinite and all-powerful. It doesn’t fight with the dark around us or in us. God’s light is spiritual Love, and it is filling us right now with inspiration, uplift, peace, hope, joy, energy.
As we do our best to turn from the mesmerizing belief that the dark has reality, reason, strength, we see that the light of God is right where we are, just as it has always been, like the sun that may be hidden by clouds—or by our perspective—but is always consistently there: strong, bright, and beaming.

Thank you dear friend!!!!
As I look across the street at the aftermath of the hurricane, the HUGE piles of rubble, the downed trees and the stacked remains of what WERE peoples houses and homes… your words are very comforting!!
The darkness all around us being the destruction of our homes and neighborhoods is so “in our face”!
It is so reassuring to feel God’s presence and to understand the underlying principle of our real existence.
Thanks for being here to remind us of God’s ever presence and Love. We will survive!
Thanks for always being there for us!!
Much love from here!
Pat
God bless you and your neighbors! I’ll be keeping you all in my prayers. Much love to you!
