Happy young woman holding colorful balloons and flying over a green meadow

“He isn’t far from any of us, and he gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are. ‘We are his children,’ just as some of your poets have said.” (Acts 17: 27-28, Contemporary English Version)

Yes, we are God’s children, and this is indeed a poetic identity, worthy of extoling! We were created by God to declare His glory, His beauty, His lyrical, harmonious ode of joy.

For we are the very evidence of God’s presence, revealing and radiating the essence of Life, of God’s own nature—uncontained, dynamic, and yet comfortable, safe and satisfying. We have this lively being because God is always with us and in us. He animates us and also comforts us, assures us, guides us. What and who we are is not distant from Him. We are the beloved. We remain in God’s Mind and in His heart. Always.

And so, we have the power and the right and the honor to be who we actually are. Because of our oneness with God and with His purpose, we simply can’t stray from our true selves. All of God’s good qualities constitute our very life. As we live and move in this world, we can poetically and powerfully express ourselves as the very amazing and supremely lovable children of God that He made us to be!
