“Thus has the Lord of hosts said, ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion, to each other; and do not oppress or exploit the widow or the fatherless, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise or even imagine evil in your hearts against one another.’” (Zechariah 7: 9-10, Amplified Bible)

This is the direct order from the Almighty to each one of us. And we can do it! It is our duty to be what God has caused us to be. We were created to express His Truth and we are formed out of His perfect Love. Kindness is our spiritual DNA. Justice is a natural and compelling force within us.

Let’s respond to this command with a fulness of intention. Let’s not be wishy-washy in obeying what God demands of us. This awareness of others and their needs, this selfless compassion, is also our salvation. Love is Life to us, and it is settling, satisfying, and causes us to flourish. Loving one another, seeking fairness and peace, is a balm to our being.

This divine demand calls us not only to act with goodness toward others, but to think rightly as well. We can be alert to our thoughts about one another. Love is healing. Evil has nothing to do with God, so it only disturbs, but has no power to help us find joy and peace and to follow our true purpose. So, let’s embrace each opportunity to utilize the true power of Love consciously, conscientiously, and generously.
