“…as the scripture says, ‘What no one ever saw or heard, what no one ever thought could happen, is the very thing God prepared for those who love him.’” (I Corinthians 2: 9, Good News Translation)
Let’s remember this great announcement and promise. The fact of Jesus’s resurrection proved unequivocally that our human expectations can be so much lower than what is truly possible. In spite of biblical prophecy and Jesus’s own words, even those closest to the Master never really saw what was coming!
Yet, he transcended death and proved the power of God and His Love. And this Love is preparing great things for us as well. Jesus taught that God was our Father-Mother, and that our love for Him, our affection for good, our trust, would reveal healing, guidance, peace, safety, life! Jesus was preaching and proving the Truth.
Let’s stop outlining what our possibilities are. Let’s shut down the limited way we think about our lives and about the world as well. God’s intention is greater than our imagination, and certainly bigger (and better!) than our human, material way of thinking about things.
What no one ever saw or heard, a miracle to human sense, is the very thing that He has prepared for you and for me. Expect it. Be receptive. And rejoice!
