“…prayer, coupled with a fervent habitual desire to know and do the will of God, will bring us into all Truth. Such a desire has little need of audible expression. It is best expressed in thought and in life.” (Science and Health, page 11)
You can pray at any time. You can make use of your genuine desire to know God better, to feel and lean on His presence, and pray with your life even when the human experience says there is not time, quiet, or room in thought for inspiration.
God knows our heart. Trust that He does and don’t qualify your prayer according to how many words you have said or read. It is the true allegiance to goodness that is a constant prayer, and it will open the way for life to show its agreement with reality, with the harmony God made and kept. It will also lead naturally to perfect opportunities for conscious communion with God, deep and thorough prayers that settle and save us.
If doing the will of God is our desire then to do this means to yield up a limited sense of how we need to get to Him, talk to Him, listen to Him. God is omniscient Love. Let Him reach you. Release yourself to His control and activity and simply live as He made you to live—as the very expression of His own goodness and the grateful object of His knowing, tender, unfailing love.
