Daily Inspiration, April 3rd

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17: 7-8)

Our stability in all times and in every circumstance is found in God. As we put our full trust in Him, we find we are not subject to the randomness of nature or the whims of mortals. Likewise, this genuine faith in God’s goodness, presence, and wisdom, frees us from worry and fear. It eases our minds and brings us peace.

How do we gain this great trust? First of all, by believing that the prophets like Jeremiah were saying it like it is. These inspired individuals spoke the Truth and shared it with mankind because it was the Truth and it was for mankind’s use. And then we deepen our faith in God’s provision and unequaled care by drawing closer to Him, by becoming better acquainted with His loving nature and unopposed power, and so coming to know even better why He is so utterly trustworthy.

Those waters, rivers, and roots that Jeremiah talks about all belong to God and are truly under His wise and exclusive control. He possesses them and they must therefore express His qualities and do so abundantly. The flourishing fields of our lives and the sustaining and cleansing waters of Love are in His hands and therefore ours to receive and utilize, to rejoice in and be grateful for.

Our faith in God and not our fear of matter gives us a great dominion over all that would come into our experience and a well-rooted stability. Our confidence in Him is our freedom, keeping us steady in the storms and sustaining us in the wilderness of doubt, darkness, and fear. Our trust in God gives us all that we need to truly thrive and as a bonus, it includes enough strength and supply that we are also able and eager to share our goodness with the world.

In a rich array of wonderful inspiration found on this site, today’s is the best. How wonderfully clear you elaborate the meaning of these verses and bring them down to our day, this moment, our own experience. So many times we read the bible and think “How Nice”. But you have brought it into our very lives… TODAY!!! Thanks dear Laura for a truly inspired look at how our “roots” are watered by the Father, today as in the time of Jeremiah.
