“And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.” (Isaiah 58: 11, the Living Bible)

You are tenderly cared for. God is constantly, continually, conscientiously leading you and watching over you. Divine Love and its abundant goodness is ready not only to meet our basic needs, but to surely satisfy us, with supply as well as peace.

We can claim the fullness of this promise and know ourselves as we truly are. You are a beautiful and flourishing garden. You are not weak and weary and losing your colors, your life, your opportunities to blossom and grow.

We can accept this benediction because it is Truth. We are tended by the hand of God Who is Life and Truth and Love. This infinite Spirit feeds us with its life-giving substance, and this eternal goodness never runs dry. So we must always flow fresh and free, whole and healthy, as God’s grace showers us with all that is good, right, and ours to continually receive and enjoy.

“The prophetic Word was confirmed to us. You’ll do well to keep focusing on it. It’s the one light you have in a dark time as you wait for daybreak and the rising of the Morning Star in your hearts.” (II Peter 1: 19, the Message Bible)

The Morning Star is more than just a new day in our human years. This dawning is the beautiful Truth filling our hearts, causing us to feel the promise and its fulfillment in us, to us, through us.

This sounds like a tall order, some far off event that seems out of reach. But this verse reminds us that the Word—that Truth of being, that awareness that Christ brought of our own relationship with God, everlasting Life—has been confirmed. We are the very beneficiaries of this good news, and the evidence of this revelation of divine Love’s presence and power.

Let’s keep focusing on this glorious light. When times seem dark or we feel doubting and confused, we can remember that the day must break. The sunrise is inevitable and our consciousness of the healing glow of love must surely come to us. The more we hold to this hope, this trust; the more we reflect anew on the inspired Truth we have already seen and felt, the more comforted we feel even in the darkness.

And so we are all the more ready to recognize and feel the healing light of that Morning Star shining on our humble faces and uplifting our eager hearts to joy!

“Oh! May the God of green hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope!” (Romans 15: 13, Message Bible)

Let us be receptive to hope! Let us be ready and willing to believe in and yield to the life that is divine, eternal, good, perpetually alive and new.

It seems this green hope must surely be a lively, fresh, growing quality, that has life in it and that continues to bloom. We can be ready to open our hearts to a glimmer of expectation and trust in good, until this gleam feels more like a floodlight—warming, brightening, filling our lives and those around us with joy, energy, peace.

This pure power comes from the Holy Spirit, not from our personal wills or from the actions of others toward us. The Holy Spirit transcends human circumstances and dissolves a sense of limits and the fears that seem to accompany them. This spiritual force comes from God, the ever-present All, Who is Love and Life and Truth Itself. This omnipotence can’t be held back and its healing glory is here now for us to realize, receive, and enjoy.

Let’s accept this beautiful benediction for ourselves and let our hope brim over, bringing inspiration and uplift to others as well.

“This is my command: Love each other.” (John 15: 17, International Children’s Bible)

It sounds so simple. This command from Jesus is not difficult to understand. We don’t need to be scholars or have some deep spiritual wisdom to comply with this demand, this beautiful request from the Master to his followers, then and now.

Love each other. Just do it. The tendency to believe this is hard and that love is qualified, is just a false sense of ourselves, but even more so of the very quality of Love. For divine Love is always up to the job. Divine Love doesn’t think about loving. It simply loves.

And this is the Love that we can utilize as we accept its presence. A child naturally loves others and enjoys receiving love in return. As we remember that we are actually children of Love itself—born of Love and to Love and dwelling always in this infinite Love—then expressing this love for others is not effort. It is being.

Let’s release the mind from thinking it is difficult to love and let’s be willing to feel the Love that is not personal, and yet reaches us where we are, drawing us into its embrace. The quality of Love is not limited in space or in time. It doesn’t belong to one and not to all. We have it, and we can express it. It’s our right to do this. In loving, we bless others and set ourselves free as well.

“Ask, and the gift is yours. Seek, and you’ll discover. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.” (Matthew 7: 7-8, the Passion Translation)

Persistence surely seems vital to gain answers and blessings. But Jesus’ words here are not a call for impatience or despair. They are a promise to us. We must gain our deepest longings as we ask for them with constancy and trust.

The first essential thing is that we must seek. This means that we have to set aside a belief that we already know or that the solution to life and to joy is something that we can readily perceive with our senses. We must realize that to truly find and feel the riches—that settled and serene heart of contentment and love—we must turn to Spirit, to God.

And this persistent seeking simply means that each day we have an occasion to learn more about what is truly satisfying, right, and real. Our persistent yearning and going to the Source for guidance and instruction, is a daily walk with Love, with Truth, with grace.

So, we are not waiting for some final reward. We are turning to our Father-Mother-Love each day and gaining insights, renewal, and a greater awareness of the glorious gift of Life.

“Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” (Philippians 4: 8, the Passion Translation)

Our thinking is vital. The quality and focus of our thoughts can make all the difference in how we feel and act, and what we radiate out to the world.

We can regularly pause and ponder where our consciousness is taking us. We can do our best to recognize unproductive thoughts—any preoccupation with those things and ideas that are not from God, from good, from Love. We can be alert to ruminating about our lives in negative ways or thinking about others with judgement or fear.

Instead, we can start with the beautiful list in this verse. We can begin to put the force of our attention on these things. We can align our thinking with what is good and therefore also powerful to heal, help, save, uplift, renew.

What a joy it should be to stop thinking about what is wrong and to start thinking about what is right and about how our love can bring out more of this goodness. We can enjoy reflecting on beauty in the world and in others and in ourselves. We can celebrate in our hearts and our thoughts the qualities of respect and honor, dignity and purity.

This awareness of light, this recognition of God’s glorious work, is a conscious praise. It doesn’t ignore troubles, but shines the Truth on them, bringing inspiration and healing to ourselves and to those on whom our shining thoughts beam.

“The Lord protects the simple (childlike); I was brought low [humbled and discouraged], and He saved me.” (Psalms 116: 6, Amplified Bible)

We can surrender our egos and be more childlike. We can recognize that as we release the belief that we must be in control, knowing all, accomplishing it perfectly, we gain the truest of blessings.

For in that humility that often comes out of challenges, we are rescued by God, Our Father-Mother. We are brought into a new place of understanding that is not about human knowledge at all. It is the wisdom of simplicity. It is remembering that being the children we truly are brings us opportunities for pure grace.

Don’t let discouragement make you feel as if you have failed. In that place where we don’t know the answers, feel frightened and low, God is right there to embrace us, lift us, save us. We can give up the need to be strong and smart and yield willingly to that simple childlikeness that opens us up to receiving God’s care, His salvation, and a return to our rightful joy.

“Peter fairly exploded with his good news: ‘It’s God’s own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you’re from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.’” (Acts 10: 34-35, the Message Bible)

This is truly good news. No wonder Peter was so excited! He had come to know and experience the Christ, the wonderful, revealed Truth of God and man.

God loves each and every one of us. No one is excluded from God’s blessings, from the right and ability to hear and feel the Truth that sets us free. None of us can be left out because this Truth is universal, infinite, active. This Truth is Love and it applies to us all. The door is open.

We may agree with the world’s opinions or get hung up with our own beliefs about our self-worth, believing that we can’t really enter into a deeper awareness of God, of heaven, of release, of joy. We may think our past mistakes, or our doubts and fears can keep us out of the kingdom of God’s grace.

But the Truth is plain, and it delivers such good news. God plays no favorites. All are welcomed in. We can know this for ourselves and see it for others as well. We all can listen and naturally follow, find answers, peace, and happiness, no matter where we come from, where we’ve been, or who we think we are. God knows His children, and each is equally precious to Him. He is perfect Love! The door is open.

“Let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” (Ephesians 4: 23-24, New Living Translation)

We can start today with a fresh sense of ourselves and of our lives. We can take off the heavy old coat and put on what truly fits us and suits us. We can become today what we were made to be—righteous and holy.

This uprightness, wholeness, purity, is God’s own nature and He created us to show forth these divine qualities. Our identity isn’t housed in body. It isn’t expressed by a personality that has passed through years and accumulated fears. We were created to be like God, and this true selfhood is never lost, only at times lost sight of.

So, we can enthusiastically receive this invitation to be renewed, to be cleansed of all that is not truly us, not truly satisfying, of what feels incomplete or lacking. We can let the Spirit make us new.

This is not a human endeavor, a willful attempt to be nicer, happier, freer, better. It is a release to God and His Spirit, to that constantly active Love that is ready to remind us of who we are, to show us how to receive that worthiness and so to live as we were meant to live, to give as we were meant to give.

“But when you demonstrate generosity, do it with pure motives and without drawing attention to yourself. Give secretly and your Father, who sees all you do, will reward you openly.” (Matthew 6: 3-4, the Passion Translation)

True generosity comes from a genuine motive of goodness and care. It is a quality of God and so comes from a standpoint of abundance. No loss is felt and the willingness to give is inspired and heartfelt.

This giving—whether it be of supply and substance or of our varied gifts and expressions of love—is not about being seen and acknowledged. When we share what we have with selfless intentions, our real and wonderful reward is in seeing the difference our generosity has made on another, not in what it does for ourselves.

So, we receive a blessing in the joy and the gratefulness of another, whether expressed directly toward us or not. And God continues to reward us with His Love and His own gifts because we are truly aligned with His own purpose.

We feel richly blessed because God is pleased by our quiet generosity. This awareness of His approval and Love reveals plentiful good and satisfaction in our lives and an eagerness to share even more.
