“The one who always listens to me will live undisturbed in a heavenly peace. Free from fear, confident and courageous, that one will rest unafraid and sheltered from the storms of life.” (Proverbs 1: 33, the Passion Translation)

Listening is heaven. In yielding our egos up, turning off the noise of mortal thoughts and human opinion, we find true peace.

The storms of human life will still come. But as we trust God’s presence and Love for us, we feel a strength and confidence. We may be challenged, but we are not mesmerized by fear and daunted by circumstances. We find a present and powerful shelter in the Word of God, His assurances, His ready guidance, the angels of His presence.

It isn’t always easy to listen to God or to feel that we can hear Him. But we can remember that His wisdom and goodness, His Truth and Love, are not distant. They are within us already, ready for us to accept. We can humble ourselves to this inner voice and let it comfort and buoy us. We can release the belief that we are fearful mortals and claim the courage and calm that comes of our natural, unbreakable oneness with God.
