“Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.” (Proverbs 3: 5-6, the Message Bible)

We can gratefully give up the need to figure everything out on our own. We can stop all the over-thinking and stressing, feeling responsible and burdened by this.

We can begin to feel the pleasures of trust. We can release the confusion and concern and listen for God’s voice, that gentle yet powerful voice of Truth and Love. Staying on track doesn’t take willful effort or ego. It isn’t about going the way we think we should go, or that others tell us to go. It isn’t about constant worry over our choices, what we might do or what we have done.

It is about yielding, in this sweet moment, to a higher power—the One that knows you, loves you, and wants the best for you. God is with us in everything we do, and so we really can’t stray from the path. The path is simply walking, step by step, in the way of His goodness and Love. It is letting Life unfold as it must naturally and progressively do. It is giving up the reins and still feeling secure because our reliance is truly reliable, always ready, full of new experiences and the map to get us there, safe and sound!
