Daily Inspiration, October 23rd

“With every sun’s rising, surprise us with Your love, satisfy us with Your kindness. Then we will sing with joy and celebrate every day we are alive.” (Psalms 90: 14, The Voice Translation)

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to approach each day as the writer of this psalm? What could keep us from turning to God with a willingness to be fully loved by Him, to receive goodness that is satisfying, and to be surprised and delighted by the gifts of God’s precise and perfect Love?

Every sunrise ushers in another divine moment in which all things are possible. We can burrow down physically and mentally, with dread or low expectations. Or we can turn our faces upward not only in hope and openness, but also with our own bright song of Life ready to sing forth. For you do have a brilliant song, a very special way in which you walk in the world and spread your light, your colors, your melody, your rhythm.

When we acknowledge God’s abundant Life and His readiness to bless us with goodness, we are able to release ourselves from fear and self-doubt, and to be what we were meant to be. We can celebrate the surprise of each day, one that includes a new recognition of who we truly are and why our lives are significant, beautiful, and fun!
