Daily Inspiration, May 22nd

“No temptation has come your way that is too hard for flesh and blood to bear. But God can be trusted not to allow you to suffer any temptation beyond your powers of endurance. He will see to it that every temptation has a way out, so that it will never be impossible for you to bear it.” (I Corinthians 10: 13, JB Phillips New Testament)

Temptations may come. We may feel the draw toward things that aren’t the best for us. Or we may be put in a position that tests our disposition, our tolerance, our patience. We may also be tempted to believe that our troubles are too great, that we are beyond human help physically or mentally.

But God has assured us that what seems to come to us, taunting us into despair, is never beyond our capacity to escape, and at the same time to grow, advance, gain a greater understanding of our Life and its powerful goodness. These challenges may appear, but they are not God’s punishment or some test of faith that we can possibly fail.

God is always with us. His Love and His Truth abide with us. We are the evidence of God’s own qualities and have dominion naturally. We can wash away those doubts and recognize that every problem has its right and healing solution, and each test of character is not meant to break us, but to prove how strong and pure and good and worthy we truly are!
