Daily Inspiration, May 1st

freedomcommands

“As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.” (Psalms 119: 143, New Living Translation)

Stress can seem like a daily part of experience. It may seem there is always some pressure to accomplish or to be in control or even to live up to some certain standard of perfection.

But this unkind burden and strain has its release in God. We have His commands to give us joy. For as we become conscious of God’s commands to honor Him alone, and to trust His presence and power, we are relieved of the false responsibility. For God is the Mind in charge and the One Who created and sustains all. His commands are to obey this law, to recognize God’s Allness, and by doing so, to set ourselves free to be.

To be what? To be free! To be what God intended that we be—expressions of His intention; manifestations of His activity; proof of His harmony, authority, and Love.

When we find ourselves feeling pressed, let’s take a pause and remember that God is in charge, and He is not burdened by Life, but is able to lead us in each moment to natural success, peace, and joy!
