Daily Inspiration, August 24th

“With all my heart I have sought You, [inquiring of You and longing for You];
Do not let me wander from Your commandments [neither through ignorance nor by willful disobedience].”
(Psalms 119: 10, Amplified Bible)

This is the prayer of an honest heart. It is that earnest yearning to be and do good. It is also a conscious recognition that we cannot do this alone. We need God to show us the way, moment by moment, and to keep us on track.

This plea isn’t a sign of weakness. The prayer acknowledges a deep desire to really know the Truth of absolute oneness with God, and to fully be what He has caused us to be. Yes, there are times that we feel we know so little or that we just can’t seem to stay on track. We stray from listening and push along with our own agenda or with the general currents of human thought.

But our seeking from the heart saves us. For, within us there is a recognition of Love and Life as it truly is. We do naturally hear and seek God’s voice. And while we may wander knowingly or unknowingly from a direct path to peace, that inner desire to know Love’s purpose, will surely and safely lead us home.
