“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.” (Micah 7: 8)
The enemy, the problems, the challenges, the fears will not win the day. We do not surrender to the opposition against our peace. We have no intention of conceding defeat. Our God will not allow it.
When we fall, it will be an occasion to be lifted up. It will be an opportunity for God’s strength and righteousness to carry us up out of the pit of discouragement. By surrendering to God, and not to evil, we gain in understanding and perspective. We win the day by releasing a personal sense of control for the divine law, the supremacy and goodness of Spirit.
That darkness that envelopes us at times and makes us feel so far from inspiration, from hope, from joy, from a sense of love for ourselves and others, is not our final destination. It is, in fact, a silent vestibule for God’s own light to shine, to reach the thought that is humanly at a loss, with the wisdom and clarity that only the divine can bring. We are never alone in the dark. There is always God there, the constant light of Love which brightens, warms, and saves.
The “enemy” is not a legitimate threat. It will never beat us. With God we will rise, shine, and win!
