Daily Inspiration, November 12th

“By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.” (Proverbs 22: 4)

We don’t get wealthy by arrogance, pride, and personal ego. The true riches, those things that constitute our heaven here and now, do not come and cannot remain through such selfish and material motives. It is only by our devotion to God as the divine Providence, the real substance and activity of good, that we can claim and feel true peace, the prosperity of wholeness.

We must discover our inherent humility. We must release ourselves to this natural desire to give up self for the abundance of Soul, to trust God and His loving intention. We must be happy to be children–not petulant kids or bullies–but those sweet and lovable children that a parent can’t help but spoil with attention and loving gifts. God created us as these innocent ones and this is really our true and only being.

How do we accept this sense of being, give up the feeling that we must fight for good or prove ourselves through human endeavor? By Love. As we realize that we are fully loved by God, by the One who saw fit to make us and never mistakes, we can give up that sense of desperate need, and relax into our childlike expectation and fearless joy.

Humility is riches. It sets and settles us in awareness of God’s grace, whereby we have all things wonderful, right, and satisfying.
