“I shall not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Lord shall rule over you.” (Judges 8: 28)
There is only one true ruler over us all. We all come under the one authority, God, the divine Principle of Life. Our elected human leaders can’t usurp the divine control or overturn God’s laws of righteousness and Life and Love. Those who we vote into office must necessarily obey the higher power, that One Who governs and maintains the universe and always has.
Let’s give power where it is due. Let’s stay clear with our own calm thought that while we may or may not trust a specific leader in our own country or another’s, we can always trust God. His law is supreme over all, a constant, and He is infinite wisdom, perfect goodness, and faithful Love. We can cast our vote for what seems our highest right, utilizing our own spiritual discernment and wisdom, based not on human opinions or mesmerizing propaganda, but on the gentle voice of God’s leading.
We can rest gratefully on God’s ability to keep what He has created in our nations as well as in our individual lives and bodies. Politics are not law and neither are material beliefs about what constitutes our health and well-being. We are not ruled over by a person or by “his son”–a human opinion about life and its possibilities. We are governed by God, our own Father-Mother, Who unifies all He has made in the greater good called Love.

This is VERY good!! Thanks so much. It is easy to get entangled in the web of politics and argue endlessly. But it is God who governs.
I know people supporting each side in the Presidential election. They are mostly all good, thoughtful, sincere and hold their positions firmly. But the significance of their vote, whichever side, is their keen interest, their desire for right, seeking solutions, and this will be the winning “ticket” every time.
You said, it Pat. Exactly right. “For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever!”
God’s kingdom, power, and glory, is our peace, joy, and prosperity as well.
