“Perfect and infinite Mind enthroned is heaven. The evil beliefs which originate in mortals are hell.” (Science and Health, page 266)

Heaven is God’s supremacy acknowledged and obeyed. Hell is giving to mortal thought a power it isn’t worthy of and can’t handle. Any hellish experience is dwelling in and dwelling on that which would suggest that there is an opposition to Allness, to pure goodness, Life and Love. This hell isn’t a real place or a real condition, and it isn’t something we are stuck with, even temporarily.

The infinite Mind has guaranteed that our heaven is at hand. The eternal and true nature of God and His perfect goodness, gives us a certain and ready access to peace and harmony. The thought is the thing. We can believe in and fight and argue with and succumb to evil beliefs, writhing in the hell of our own acceptance. Or, we can choose to enter into the heaven of His consciousness and find joy and peace.

It is not mere positive thinking. It is a clearing out of evil thoughts by yielding to the solid and sustaining Truth of Life as not at the mercy of matter or error. It is an agreement to believe and worship good, God, and to disbelieve and give up the acceptance of anything less than what He is and what we deserve to experience. We must enthrone God, perfect good, in our thought, give it full authority and trust. Heaven is ours because we are God’s own ideas never out of His sight, and our natural state of being is harmonious, lovely, and free.
