“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.” (Psalms 32:7)
God, good, is our refuge, our sanctuary, our peace. He is our only true escape from the delusions and confusions of sense and the limits and lies of material living. This hiding place does not isolate us from others or from Life, but fully unites us with God’s purpose, His harmonious design of Love which necessarily includes all.
We can retreat to this place of comfort and inspiration. We can and must withdraw from the accusations against our beautiful Life that want to inundate us, to make us hear only noise and see only darkness. We must pause in God, in that place of infinite good. We must hide ourselves away, allowing God’s voice, His song, to pierce through and save us. His saving song, whether tender and slow and sweet, or thunderous and awakening and exciting, is ready to be heard and to bring inspiration, hope, and healing.
Let’s not hide from Life in sleep, in complaint, in seclusion, in fear, in a gloomy living tomb. Instead, let’s make our hiding place that which is not only bright and warm and comforting, but also the very source of a new sense of life, a renewed body and mind, a readiness to participate in Love’s great purpose. Then we can truly leave the confines of self and selfishness, for the pleasures and treasures of Soul!

Hi Laura! Thanks for this daily inspiration. It can easy to hide from Life but as I have found out it is much more rewarding to open myself to the riches of what God has to offer. No hiding anymore!!!!! That is a GREAT comfort. I appreciate your insights!
Have a good weekend!
