“And [your] life shall be clearer than the noonday and rise above it; though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.” (Job 11: 17, Amplified Bible Classic Edition)

God’s promise is Truth. He is Life itself and He knows what Life is about, what is possible, what is yours to experience no matter what.

We can get perplexed and discouraged by the darkness that may seem to surround us. We may feel mesmerized by time, by the passage of years, and it may feel like loss. But God is continually feeding us with goodness, with energy, with new opportunities, and with regeneration. God’s Spirit and His intention are greater than the gloomy, doomy thoughts we may be thinking or the limits the world would seem to put on us.

You and your life are like the morning. You are waking up now to a clear day, new with light and with joy and with growth and with adventure. You can rise up for a fresh view of health, of your own nature—ageless and glorious, reflecting God’s eternal qualities of Life.

Accept the radiance that is yours to know. Gratefully watch it break through the clouds and lovingly show you the beauty and grandeur of you and your life. Today.

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15: 5-6, New International Version)

Let’s know that we can have that state of mind that Jesus had. The Christ-consciousness was Jesus’s connection to God, and we also have that powerful relationship. We can choose to accept that attitude of mind that is exalted above the human grievances, judgments, competitiveness, envy, and ignorance.

We can glorify God, express that Love and Life that Jesus showed us, by receiving God’s encouragement and strength in our individual lives, and also by remembering that our unity with others is essential as well.

For God is not scattered, arbitrary, conditional and exclusive. If we are to be like God—to truly reflect that image of goodness, power, and even of health—we must also accept that consciousness that dwells in harmony, unity. We must gratefully give up the self-righteous and egotistical arguing self for the uplifted spirit that wants to love, understand, and be at peace with one and all.

And with this awareness, we are never alone. We are part of an inspired whole that praises God with one unified voice, resonant with the beauty and energy and rightness and saving grace of Soul.

“It is Love which paints the petal with myriad hues, glances in the warm sunbeam, arches the cloud with the bow of beauty, blazons the night with starry gems, and covers earth with loveliness.” (Science and Health, page 247)

Nature is a space of awe, of beauty, of inspiration, and of boundless reasons for gratitude. The glories of creation that we view and appreciate, are made by God. He created all that is good and right, each with its specific intention, place, and continuity.

These spiritual ideas of God are perceived by us, felt within, stirring and uplifting us, because of Love. Divine Love is God’s way of bestowing on each of us the gift of appreciation. Love is the reason why the stars twinkle at us, calling us to something greater than ourselves. This tender affection is what causes the seeds to blossom into colors that we couldn’t conceive but which enrich the soul.

The earth is heaven made known to our humanity. Love gives us this insight—this ability to realize the transcendent in the mountains, the oceans, the leaves covered in dewdrops, and the sun’s ability to be there consistently every day and yet to play upon the clouds with a new masterpiece each morning and evening.

Let’s rejoice and revere what Love has shown us. Let’s pause and receive, humbly, the riches that are not superficial prettiness, but the resplendence of Soul’s own infinite creativity and joy.

“Awake, my glory (my inner self); awake, harp and lyre! I will awake right early [I will awaken the dawn]”! (Psalms 57: 8, Amplified Bible Classic Edition)

We may be morning people, or we may not. We may find this kind of admonition to begin our day with praise and song, early and ready, a difficult one.

But what the psalmist is truly inviting us to do is to embrace the glory within us. It isn’t about being a perfect human on a perfect schedule, always good to go. What it is about is pausing to consciously celebrate your inner self, the reality of who you are, that one that is special to God, worthy, and able to realize this Truth.

God has made us to reflect His own nature, that which is all-loving, whole, right, good, powerful. We can wake up to the glory of His qualities and know that they are ours to claim and express. We can stir ourselves to see beyond the material perception of things, to the spiritual idea that God has made. We can delight in recognizing that as we are willing to discover who God made us to be, our spiritual completeness and loveliness, we can experience contentment and expectation. And so our very lives become songs of gratitude to God, to Love, and to Life!

“When the wind blows down a tree, it lies where it falls. Don’t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don’t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life.” (Ecclesiastes 11: 3-4, the Message Bible)

Okay! This is one of those wake-up calls we often need. It seems like we can get into that waiting room mentality, where we either simply hope things will get better for us or we just resign ourselves to it being what it is, even if that isn’t the best.

We can take initiative. With God. We can stop looking back at what went before and ruminating over it, keeping it close and letting it essentially paralyze us. We can move forward. We can stop waiting for other people to change or for time to be the healer of all ills. Instead, we can yield to Life, to God, Who is ready for us to progress, to live, to experience His goodness and to know our own ability to thrive.

We have to do our own work. And this doesn’t mean toil, but it does mean commitment, resolve, a conscious choice to take the first step, to leave the dead tree where it was and plant something new or to find fresh blooms already springing up just a few paces ahead.

Let’s break the mesmerism of stagnant living with the refreshing splash of God’s living water, His open invitation into something better, bigger, a work and a life that is fruitful and satisfying and ready for us to begin!

“Jesus called a little child to his side and set him on his feet in the middle of them all. ‘Believe me,’ he said, ‘unless you change your whole outlook and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. It is the man who can be as humble as this little child who is greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.’” (Matthew 18: 2-4, JB Phillips New Testament)

Jesus was telling us the Way. He saw the innocence of the child, the humble openness, as the right disposition to experience heaven.

And this childlikeness is not something lost to us over time, nor is our heaven in the future, some afterlife that we will get to if we behave ourselves and obey the human rules of living. This right outlook is something we can choose in each moment. As we yield our judgment and our assumptions about ourselves and life and remember and claim that natural receptivity of a child, we can begin to live that heaven, that harmonious experience.

Because being great in the kingdom of heaven is becoming conscious of who we are. The power is not personal greatness, but it is knowing our relationship with God, our oneness with Him, with Life and Love. It is through our awareness of God’s constant care—that Fathering and Mothering that has never and can never leave us—that we are able to play in life as well as progress.

We have to and can release the ego that thinks it knows how to make it or thinks it can’t make it, to the divine Mother-Father Who is confidently, consistently, consciously revealing aspects of heaven every moment to your wide and willing child eyes!

“Even the darkness is not dark to You and conceals nothing from You, But the night shines as bright as the day; Darkness and light are alike to You.” (Psalms 139: 12, Amplified Bible)

God is light. He is enlightenment, goodness, radiance. There is no darkness in Him, and He is everywhere. God is active presence. His substance and His activity constitute all that is and that is going on.

When darkness seems to come, whether it be the fears that come in the night or the disturbing images of the day, we can turn our faces towards God’s continuous light. His sunlight is forever available to us and it is Truth. God is not deceived by evil’s claims. The light doesn’t fight the darkness. It simply remains what it is, and by doing so, dispels it.

Let’s remember, too, that the variations in life and in our circumstances that seem to get to us, those ups and downs, don’t change God’s presence. He is always the same, always with you, always Love, always Life, always the light that shines powerfully and equally for one and for all.

“Let joy be your continual feast. Make your life a prayer. And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks, for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18, the Passion Translation)

God’s plan for us is to be joyful and grateful. That may seem like a stretch at times or like it isn’t really going to get us ahead in this world.

But Christ Jesus came with a promise that he also proved. We can, like Jesus, make our life a prayer. The Master’s daily experience was not one of constant contemplation, but it was one of connection. It was an awareness of God in all that Jesus did that made him powerful, peaceful, and ready.

This conscious communion with divine Love and Life gives us access to guidance, strength, and the ability to do good. Jesus walked through life with the confidence that came of knowing that he was never alone, but always at One with the Father-Mother. We can know this, too. We can accept this reality of our being and learn to walk with grace and goodness through our days, humbly open to instruction.

And also ready for the feast of joy that this Truth reveals! We can live in gratitude as Jesus did, even when the human scene still seemed to say otherwise. His recognition of God in every place revealed healing and abundance, and it must do the same for us. We can trust God’s ever-presence, appreciate what we truly have, and relish the invitation to live happily and helpfully!

“We ought to weary of the fleeting and false and to cherish nothing which hinders our highest selfhood.” (Science and Health, page 68)

What are we cherishing? What are we nurturing in our thought and in our lives? What are we clinging to as important and needed?

Let’s be sure we are not investing our attention and devotion to things that don’t really serve us. Let’s take moments to reflect on the choices we are making. Are we growing, progressing, feeling more free and happy? Are we pursuing what makes us feel satisfied and brings our best to the world?

Whatever serves that higher selfhood, the genuine you that God created, should be given space in our thinking and truly cultivated. We can willingly let go of those behaviors and beliefs that lower us, make us less than we are and deserve to be. We can begin to see, as we are humbly receptive, those ideas and practices that hide our light, that drag us down in the eyes of others and to ourselves as well. We can let go of the exhausting weight of living out of accord with our bright and buoyant and blessed selves and accept today the pure and powerful individual God made.

Your true identity is ready to shine. Don’t neglect it. Discover it, claim it, live it!

“Grace, mercy, and peace (inner calm, a sense of spiritual well-being) will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, in truth and love.” (II John 1: 3, Amplified Bible)

It is always a good time for a benediction. Let’s receive this beautiful blessing on our day and on our lives.

This verse is not merely a hope for us. It is a statement of Truth, and while it is bestowed like a gift, it is really a reminder of our state of being, our rights, our reality. For these precious qualities will be with us. Truth and Love have bestowed upon us, through the Christ-light, an awareness of inner calm, a knowing within that all is well, that we are safe, comforted, peaceful.

The world around us and the stirring within our own thoughts may make this grace, mercy, and peace, feel distant, unachievable. But we can yield to the facts. We can be still, stand at the altar of God’s Love, and simply accept the benediction, be open to grace. We can humbly allow ourselves to be shown who we truly are, in God’s eyes, and to rest joyously and gratefully in the goodness that is always ours, because we are always God’s own beloved.
