“The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” (Psalms 25: 9)
God’s guidance is flawless and available. His instruction is natural to understand and to utilize in our lives. His wisdom is wonderful, precise, healing, saving, complete. We will find no better information or method of discernment than yielding to the perfect word of God’s loving, individual direction.
Meekness is much needed. Without it, we can’t clearly hear what is right and pure and good for us and for all. Pride and human will would attempt to overtake our natural meekness, our humble willingness to hear the good news that the mortal mind might dispute or what mere human intelligence would argue against.
To be meek is not only to be humble, but it is also to be gentle. It is to be patient and sweet-tempered. This does not mean that we are spineless or weak or victims. It means, on the contrary, that we gather our strength from God’s presence and power; that we are quiet enough in thought and word that we can hear the better way, the nobler one, and that ideal which is most healing for all. Give up the push to be pushy, strong-willed, and self-righteous, and embrace the power of meekness. With it, your innate beauty will shine forth and your life will mirror that in its true loveliness, contentment, and grace.
