“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.” (Matthew 11: 28-29, Amplified Bible Classic Edition)

Take comfort. Lean. Release. We can let go of any feelings of burden by recognizing and utilizing our oneness with the Christ, the Truth of being.

We can humbly join the gentle yet powerful idea of divine Love that Jesus brought to light. We can awaken to the presence of God in our lives, to His constant care and guidance. We can let Love lead us, as we trustingly follow. We can let go of ego and its need to control, to carry the load of responsibility and the feeling of personal shame or glory that comes with that.

As we labor in our work and with the cares of life, we can remember that we have a space of refreshment, ease, quiet, and even recreation. We can receive this promise and its tender comforts with humility and gratitude. We can always turn to God and His sweet, saving Christ and find true relief, inspiration, and rest.
