angels-to-shepherds

“And the angel said unto [the shepherds], Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2: 10-11)

Hallelujah! The angels are announcing the birth of a savior! On this Christmas day, we can join the heavenly host and the shepherds in grateful praise that Christ has come, because we know what that means.

The angel’s words get at the heart of what the Christ has revealed to men and women. We are told that we need not fear, and that joy is ours to have—that all people can receive this glorious Truth. Today.

Christmas hushes the voices of doubt and darkness and shows us the true light, that divine goodness that is ever with men. We can awake this morning to the holy relationship that Jesus came to share and demonstrate. We can honor him and his story, by remembering what Jesus told us: We are children of God, worthy, blessed, and one family embraced by Father-Mother-Love.

Fear not. Listen for the good news. Let the sweet joy of Christmas come to you today and let its twinkling lights of holy promise go forward into tomorrow as well!
