“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in and puts his confidence in the Lord will be exalted and safe.” (Proverbs 29: 25, Amplified Bible)

Fear is a trap. Getting pulled into a consciousness that is full of anxiety does not bring us safety. This preoccupation with fear may seem rational and natural, but it cannot bring us what we seek.

For no one wants to live in fear. What we all want is peace. We want to know that we are secure and that we can relax and go about our lives. To be captivated by fear of others and fear of life, of time and circumstance, is truly paralyzing. But we can shake ourselves out of this snare and free ourselves to enjoy life.

We can do this by putting our confidence in God. We can trust divine Life and Love, the wisdom and control of God, to keep us alert but unafraid, awake but not frantic, involved but not threatened. The things we fear may seem legitimate, but a focus on fear darkens perfect moments and clouds our rational thinking. A release to God and a trust in Him provides a calm and clarity that reveals solutions, protection, escape, redirection, and peace.
