“The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that.” (Proverbs 29: 25, the Message Bible)

It’s easy to get distracted by what people are saying about us, or what we believe they think of us. When we go about our lives preoccupied with how we look to others or seeking their approval, we relinquish our freedom and we miss out on the good we deserve.

On the contrary, when we trust God, listen to His thoughts to us and about us, we are propelled naturally forward, feel peaceful, and can be ourselves. This release to God’s awareness and approval of us, His right and satisfying design for us, causes us to thrive and progress, confidently. We can stop living tentatively, looking for validation from others and fearing their perceptions of us.

God knows you and also what is right. He created you to be you, and He is well-pleased when you are most expressing that genuine, honest identity. The stymying influence of personal opinions falls away naturally when we hear God’s voice in our heads, accept it in our hearts, and experience it through our protected, inspired, and fearless actions.
