heartlove

“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” (Ezekiel 36: 26, New Living Translation)

Today we may be thinking about love. Valentine’s Day brings to mind relationships we have, once had, or hope for.

This verse is a refreshing gift that goes beyond flowers, cards, and nice sentiments. It is God’s blessing to you from the depth of His Love and of His intention that you live as the expression of Himself—His goodness, peace, power.

And so whatever may make our hearts or those of others less than receptive to Love, less than grateful for Life, less than responsive to what is most right and needed, He takes away. God is at the ready today to show us how freeing it can be to let go of resentments, pride, and fear and to begin afresh with tenderness, gentleness, forgiveness.

For this new heart is one that can’t be broken. It isn’t built on material desires, but made of God’s changeless and boundless affection, the Love that is secure. Let’s celebrate Love today because it is the heart of you. It is the Truth of your being which unites you with all the Love there is, right here and now and always.
