Daily Inspiration, December 14th

unity and friendship

“…live in a way that is worthy of the people God has chosen to be his own. Try your best to let God’s Spirit keep your hearts united. Do this by living at peace.” (Ephesians 4: 1, 3, Contemporary English Version)

The way we live matters. If we truly believe in God and His goodness, and in the inspired ideas that are Truth to us, then we need to act in accord with that.

For we are the chosen. God did indeed make each one of us as His own, His idea, one that was formed to express His precise and wonderful intention, and to beautifully harmonize with His whole creation as well.

It isn’t always easy to be our best, our truest selves, but we absolutely must try! And this effort is not merely about personal behavioral changes. It isn’t about willing ourselves to by humanly nice people. It is about yielding willingly to that Spirit within, that natural impulse in our hearts that yearns to be One.

We honor God and show our worthiness to be who He caused us to be by living at peace. It is about knowing that all our hearts are truly united in the cause of goodness and Love. For we were made by God, as His children, in one accord, and together in one world that is the living proof of God and His living Love.
